The decision was simple for me. $1000 for a Blueray player with 3 movies, $500 for a stand alone Hd dvd player with three movies, or $150 with game trade- ins at EB for the 360 Hd dvd add on with one movie. Microsoft provided a great option, the Blueray studios should chew on that one for a while.

I've had my HD-DVD player for a couple of months now and I'm blown away by the 20 or so HD-DVD's I've added to my collection. This "war" really needs to end so that we can move forward with one format. Anyone making even half an effort at researching this issue will come to the obvious conclusion...HD-DVD is the way to go. Toshiba is supporting and releasing updates for it's players...it keeps getting better and better!

MiniDisc, PSP (What a Joke), BetaMax (Lives on only for Broadcasters). And now the PS3 division will be a revenue drain. Do the media companies really want to gamble with their profits that way?

Betamax, Mini Disc, UMD, Blu-Ray. Sony: we want one standard. Yours is too expensive, too hard to manufacture and simply confuses and fragments a market where HD-DVD is already beating you. Give it up. You lost. Again.

You should have stuck to Televisions. They are the only product you have ever been consistent with. Blu Ray is far to expensive. Ill take HD DVD any day.
