The decision was simple for me. $1000 for a
Blueray player with 3 movies, $500 for a stand alone Hd dvd player with three movies, or $150 with game trade- ins at EB for the 360 Hd dvd add on with one movie. Microsoft provided a great option, the Blueray studios should chew on that one for a while.

I've had my HD-DVD player for a couple of months now and I'm blown away by the 20 or so HD-DVD's I've added to my collection. This "war" really needs to end so that we can move forward with one format. Anyone making even half an effort at researching this issue will come to the obvious conclusion...HD-DVD is the way to go. Toshiba is supporting and releasing updates for it's players...it keeps getting better and better!
MiniDisc, PSP (What a Joke), BetaMax (Lives on only for Broadcasters). And now the PS3 division will be a revenue drain. Do the media companies really want to gamble with their profits that way?
I'm tired of Sony trying to dominate all these media markets with their propritary technologies. They still haven't learned their lesson (betamax,SACD, UMD). It's time to get one format already.
Betamax, Mini Disc, UMD, Blu-Ray.
Sony: we want one standard. Yours is too expensive, too hard to manufacture and simply confuses and fragments a market where HD-DVD is already beating you. Give it up. You lost. Again.
The public had already spoken there are 10x more HD-DVD players in people's homes than Blu-ray players, please see the sense and start releasing films on HD-DVD
The format war hasn't even really begun in Denmark, but i'm sure that most people will see xbox and it's upgrade as a good solution instead of the over priced Bluray players we see sprouting up everywhere.
I'm sick of Sony screwing me over with there proprietary formats. I used to fall into the Sony hype machine but they've let me down numerous times and I will never buy nor support Blu-Ray or any other Sony proprietary technology. I already own an HD-DVD player and look forward to support from more studios.
Sorry Sony, You blew like you always do. Remember Beta, Remember your crappy MP3 players that didnt play MP3's, remember your expensive Memory Stick technology that sucks. Yeah sorry you failed. You should have stuck to Televisions. They are the only product you have ever been consistent with. Blu Ray is far to expensive. Ill take HD DVD any day.
