I love HD-DVD. I made my choice because of the XBOX. MCE, Games, HD-DVD for $200? It's a no brainer. But ultimately, it's content that's going to win out. Blu-Ray looks to have a larger (and possibly better) selection. Let's rev it up HD-DVD! Let's get some quality titles worth the viewing in 4x the resolution (think LOTR!). I urge all who have the XBOX to get the HD-DVD add on. It's so simple and cheap and it works!
Think about it for a second Disney. Which has shown more technical know how? Which has the best approach? The $400 or the $1000 ridiculous price of Sony's Blu-Ray?
Sony wants to take us consumers for a ride. What makes you think that isn't what they're doing with you? Look....this is all unfair really. If Sony was so sure about their technology (which they aren't)...they would get exclusivity from you studios. They would let the proof in the pudding do the talking, letting the consumer decide with the superior product. Sony knows it can't...that's why it's gotten with you (Disney).
HD-DVD has shown to be superior, true next gen disc format. Sony's tripped up in their approach. It's said Sony will get it's act together...and when it does, if it does...HD-DVD will improve even further by that time. In essence...Blu-Ray will always be a step behind. Support the worthwhile format...my goodness!!
I don't understand why Dell continues to tie themselves to this SONY anchor. Exploding laptops using SONY batteries not enough to wake Dell up to SONY's lies?
I'm loving my xbox 360 hd-dvd add on . I've already bought 12 hd-dvds in the month I've owned it and am looking at another 10 movies by the end of january .
I'm still waiting to see who is the clear-cut winner..and honestly, I have never liked the way that Sony always tries to force their own formats on the market. HURRAY for HD-DVD....please win this battle!
I just found out today that Disney is not supporting HD-DVD. I live in Florida and I will NOT support thier parks or buy thier movies until they change. Wake up Disney, at least support both formats and give your customers a choice!
Be a shame if these studios stick with 'blu', guess we'll just have to stick with regular DVD's of their movies. (Less cash for you disney & co. Please think carefully about what you're doing)
I will not support a movie company that does not give it's consumers a choice.
Let us the consumers choose our next Media format. Try and push it down our throats and we will take your company down!
Although the box design and color choice are poor in my opinion, the same cannot be said about the name, codec support and use. I wholeheartedly support this petition.
Even though Blu-Ray has better data capacity and can offer more interactive media, who cares about interactive media, you may watch the interactive media once but then watch the movie only the rest of the time, Just give me HD Movies.
With all the problems of sonys gaming division and the blu-ray diodes, i dont see it being superior. Hd-dvd is a better choice all round. With the recent change of power in Sony, we can clearly see that sony has made a fatal mistake. With looking at all their recent format history, we can see that Blu-ray is doomed.
We need one standard, not two. And HD-DVD makes the most sense if for no other reason than that you can have regular DVD on the back, making the upgrade process much more painless.
Looking at the console war alone, xbox has a widely superior library of games, and hddvd is alot cheaper for the same quality, not to mention blu-ray is already old technology.
i support hd dvd - because its cheaper than blu ray- has the same picture quality- if not better sometimes than blu ray- and has a better name- more likely to sell better
Please support the one true high-def format for your dvds. HD-DVD! I will only be buying one high-def player, of which is already in operation, a HD-DVD player. And I will not support films that are not offered in HD-DVD by buying them in the standard DVD format. Thank you. Luke Pennington
I hope Disney, 20th Century Fox, and all the others rethink their position and at least support both formats. Just think of all of the revenue they are losing by supporting just one format. There is still time to change and make some money!
I recently purchased an XB0X360 HD DVD player and would purchase more HD DVDs if they were available from the studios. After seeing the quality of HD DVDs, I won't even consider purchasing an ordinary DVD from the studios not supporting HD DVD.
I am generally seen as someone who takes an early lead in buying the lastest technology. In this case, I can clearly see that HD-DVD is the right format and I'm not happy with having the contest of Blueray and HD-DVD. I will not go near Blueray. it is far far too expensive for mainstream consumers. Roll on HD DVD. It may not sound as sexy, but the price is right and the quality spot on. VHS didn't sound nice either, but history is there for the reading. Studios, listen to the consumers.
I wish for all studios (except sony of cousre) to do both HD and BD releases in the future. HD has proven itslef as a viable money maker, now we need at least Disney and Lions Gate to come over, then we're golden on the HD front.
HD all the way
