Your holding up the market by supporting Blue Ray. Why would I buy a player that is 2-3x more expensive, and doesn't even have better picture quality. You really need to re-think your position on the HD-DVD vs Blue Ray.
HD DVD all the way!!! Sony is too proud of their stuff and they only want to...and will try to make bluray proprietary driving up the cost of the pleasures of HD for the consumer.
HD-DVD is clearly the better choice. I "WILL" buy HD-DVD movies and I hope the other studios support this format as well. If you want my money, support HD-DVD!!
HD-DVD is more cost affective, dual format, and is supported by X-box 360, the top selling console on the marker, whcih gives you the CHOICE to go HD as opposed to including their HD drive and making you pay insane amounts of money like the PS3.
I have heard nothing but bad things about the blu ray format and being the owner of an HD player can safely say it's the best way to go. Long live HD-DVD!
When DVD's first came out not all the Studios made titles for it, this was a complete drag! In time all the studios made the move to DVD. Lets hope this happens again with HD DVD!
I first bought the Blu-Ray Player by Samsung, and I was greatly dissapointed. I have the new LNS4095 Samsung 1080p TV and the Toshiba HD XA-1 blew away Blu-ray in picture quality. I support HD DVD!
I own an HD player and would like petition all movie studios to move forward and support HD format. I am hungry for titles that have been put on hold. Matrix Trilogy, Lord of the Rings Tri. and all other movies that would translate well into HD DVD format. I will continue to buy all new movies to come out in HD but I will refuse to buy DVD formats until HD DVD is fully supported.
I have the XBOX HD add on and 4 movies. I have been very pleased with the quality and the cost. I am going to encourage my friends and family to boycott all companies associated with Blu-ray.
I think the HD DVD is ten times better than the Bluray. I own 13 HD DVDs, and I haven't had a problem with any of them. They show superior sound and video quality. If the movie studios don't want to start producing HD DVDs then I won't buy any of the movies- even in the regular DVD format. HD DVD and the add on for the XBox 360 are much more cost conscious than the PS3 or the Bluray. Add that to the alarming number of PS3s that are failing to work and it won't take long for the HD DVD to be the clear winner.
I support HD-DVD over Bluray. The picture quality is better and I am not that interested in the storage capacity which I am certain Toshiba will eventually increase. Sony was the creater of Beta and it tanked due to cost and we have definately been better off without Beta. The only sony product I found to be of superior quality is there TV's. Sony should stick that niche of the market and get out of video.
i love hd and i have about 5 hd moves right now but wont to see moren then the compu that are out now come on umd moves got me but look at tham now let be far i dont car if sony keep at it for year to come but lets some of us hd people have some fun too ok
I support HD-DVD for many solid reasons;
(1) Ease of production of the disks will mean smaller labels will have HD access. (2) Still looks as good if not in most cases better than Blu-ray. (3) Is currently code free allowing the consumer to play disks from the world over. (4) Appears to be less temperamental than Blu-Ray's manipulated/bent laser and tiny data-pits. (5) More affordable disks and players. (6) At maximum capacity will be 45 Gig, who cares if Blu-Ray will be 50, they don't even come close to using that much now. (7) A long, drawn out battle will effectively kill both formats, who needs that?
From what I can tell the only thing Blu-ray has going for it over HD-DVD, is a slightly sexier name. Were not that stupid out here in TV land.
