I go for the way of Microsoft and HP which is HD DVD. It's the true benefit of a regular family who will fetch premium High-Def standard for a little cost money, that is not possible with Blu-ray way!
For high definition to survive and evolve into what it truly can be, the electronic industry needs to back one of the two available formats. Having said that HD DVD is the proven format, with units sold, ease of consumer conversion, and earlier market introduction. These standpoints and a host of others deserve the industries support of this format! I owne the HD-A2 which allowed me to enter the high def market at a fair value.
Consumers do not need this war and neither does the high definition technology. HD-DVD is more cost effective and viable to consumers. Just end this war now SONY. I swaer as God as my witness that I will never purchase another SONY product ever!
This Christmas I bought around 10 HD-DVD's which went in the pockets of Warner Brothers and Universal. My family is so blown away by it they're going to purchase an Xbox 360 and the add-on HD-DVD drive!
I can't afford a Blu-Ray and really don't think Sony should get there dirty little, low quality, hands in control of the market. I really don't care about special features. I care about the quality and cost of the product. I would love to see more studio support for HD-DVD.
I strongly believe that HD-DVD will maintain it's strong lead - it would be a shame not to enjoy some movies in HD. I am viewed as extremely knowledgable regarding this subject and ALL but ONE of my friends is going with HD-DVD and avoiding Blu-Ray (and PS3).
I'm siging this to get Fox and Disney to release in HD-Dvd format! I support HD-DVD because it is the more affordable choice, especially with only a $200 add on to my xbox 360 to enjoy HD movies!
I really hope for the studios sake they will understand that Blu Ray is not selling much. I am just waiting on the studios to bring out movies for HD DVD.
I would like more HD-dvd movies please, there is no way in hell I'm supporting Bluray, thank you very much. I don't want to suppor the next 'betamax'. And sony is beyond greedy for my taste, thanks.
The HD DVD format is an impressive leap forward for home entertainment -- and the HD DVD player offered by Microsoft for its XBox 360 is a solid piece of equipment at a bargain price. Splitting the DVD market into two camps is a handicap to viewers who want access to the movies of all studios and it also inflates the prices of the discs.
I own both a PS3 and a XBox 360 with a HD DVD drive, and in terms of picture quality and "bugginess" HD DVD wins, also the price point is much much lower
Come on FOX (and everyone else)! Stop messing around and let us buy your movies. I never thought the customers would be begging the studios to let us buy their films. Hopefully they will listen to us as we have listen to them.
Just to let FOX and Lionsgate films know, there's plenty of room for Alien and SAW in my library. I'll it the moment they come on HD-DVD, until then fall for Sony's promises.
