Instead of waiting the war to end, the studios should be smart and put all movies out in both formats. This would be a win for everyone. Also most people could care less about extra disc space for extra features.
The mere fact that this petition exists is indicative of the substantial support and enthusiasm consumers have for the HDDVD format. With the HiDef disc format (BluRay included) being a niche market (for the time being), early adopters are apparently all the more influential in the direction of future development related to this medium. As an aside, I have been a supporter of Sony products for many years. However, virtually every (Sony) product I've owned for the past 20 years have prematurely failed or was defective. I wish this were not the case, given the considerable investment I have made towards this company's offerings. Via this collective voice,I would hope that the studios currently not supporting HDDVD refocus their marketing efforts towards what is evidently YOUR target demographic !
HD DVD is the future. It's selling more, there are more movies, the players and the movies are cheaper. I don't see any valid reason to not release movies on HD DVD.
HDDVD all the way. Its a name everyone will remember and is consistent we all other terminology in the High Definition world (HDTV etc.). Sony are making poor decisions and think that marketing their product alone will sell it to consumers. Smart people will support HDDVD if they check the facts, ignorant people will buy Blu-Ray on the name alone without doing the groundwork.
Please go with HD DVD...I recently purchased a HD DVD player and a toshiba qosmio laptop with HD DVD performance...I just dont trust in what sony is doing because they are up to something fishy with that bluray stuff...GOOOO HD DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have both formats(Toshiba HD-A1, PS3) and to date have decided that the HD DVD format is superior to the BD format. To the studios please support the HD DVD format now so the consumers can have a choice.
More Hollywood Studios should go with the HD DVD format it is superior in the long run it will cost them less than paying the proprietary royalties of media giant Sony for it's Bluray format at a premium price. The cost of production of HD DVD cost farless than it's competing rival.Sony is trying to monopolize on the media format thus far to make out pretty on the media.
HD DVD only please. I have a toshiba player and several HD movies already and plan on buying more. I worry about a few titles, like underworld 1 and 2 being blu-ray exclusives, I would already have them if they were HD DVD. But I won't buy a second player for blu-ray and have no plans on a playstation 3. I already have the xbox 360. I've committed to HD and if a movie is blu-ray only, then they lost my purchase.
I've jumped into the fray with HD DVD, with several movie purchases and a toshiba player, I love the HD quality and the upscqaling on my older dvds. I like the movie selection of both new and classic movies, but there are several blu-ray titles that I'm worried may never show up on the hd dvd format.
20% of the households in Sweden own now a "HD ready" flat screen. Not far behind or on par, lays other western european countries. That represents more than 50 millions of consumers wating to make a sure bet on the winning system.
HD DVD is our winner. People buy more HD DVD stuff then Blu Ray. Remember the betamax thing. You cant trust sony, they never win. Millions of people around the world will buy your movies if you release them on HD DVD, i know i will. HD DVD sounds more better and sounds like a true successer of DVD. Blu Ray, what the heck is that, no one will know what this is. HD DVD players are like half of what Blu Ray players are. Its an easy choice right there. HD DVD has VC-1 encoded, which is a much newer and advanced codec then MPEG which is what Blu Ray uses. Sure Blu Ray has a bigger storage capacity, but HD DVD are 6-7 times bigger then regular DVDs, i mean isnt that enough already. So please release your movies on both formats instead of just Blu Ray so for those people who cant buy a $1000 or $650(PS3) Blu Ray players can still watch there favorite movies in HD on HD DVD...So Please Support HD DVD.
Blu Ray costs more then HD DVD. Please release your movie on the HD DVD format... HD DVD is selling way better then Blu Ray. HD DVD players are half the cost of Blu Ray players
I support HD-DVD, for the price, better PQ and AQ, better titles, and also for the fact that SONY is a company that do not care about the customer, so I won't support them for a while...
