I as an average consumer of movies hope that other studios begin to support HD-DVD. It angers me to see that I am literally being forced tospend 600 dollars on a PS3 just to watch movies. Thank goodness the xbox came out with an excellent alternative. To the studios who only support blu-ray....if you want me to watch your films in Hi-def....you are gonna have to wait a while before you see a red cent from me because I refuse to pay such extravagant prices for blu-ray players. BUT!!!....if you go neutral and support at least support both formats I can already afford your films now. You are losing my money right now as we speak. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!
HD DVD offers a good value for manufacturers so having more sutdio support form all the major studio will entice more consumers to buy HD DVD. Sony is full of crap support Toahiba instead. Go HD DVD it's cheaper and more effective ask anyone of us who have HD DVD allready.
It does not make sense for movie studio's to only make movies for Blu-Ray when a lot of us have HD-Dvd players and would BUY there films. Isn't that the point for a film company to sell there movies?
Definitely a lot more affordable than Blu-Ray, and thumbs up for Microsoft who's driving the HD-DVD by providing such a cheap player, and allowing high definition HD DVD outputs via component video for those who do not yet have TVs with HDMI/HDCP inputs. Way to go!
For a fan of not just movies, but the filmaking process. Nothing beats the in-movie option available on hd-dvd ot get the whole experience. My favorite feature!
I purchase about 200 DVD movies each year and own 62 HD DVD titles already. My lack of trust in Sony and Panasonic is keeping me away from Blu Ray and I don't see myself purchasing anything BD related in the future.
I own many Sony products. I enjoy their use and they satisfy the need they were purchased for. However they were my CHOICE for purchase. This stranglehold by Sony is a disgusting move to monopolize the next generation of video in the home. All companies should feel free without pressure to release their content on all formats they choose. HD-DVD should get a fair shot and competing, however we all know that nothing is fair in life. So I will unfairly stay FAR away from Sony's products whenever possible.
i do not like to be forced into making buying decisions based on a particular companies profit and market dominance. Release movies in both formats and then let the market decide. HD-DVD with its region free, better use of modern compression technologies, mandatory feature set and cheaper production costs IS the way to go to go for the consumer.
HD DVD is it. Prices are great compatible w/my 360. And most important so far no problems(unlike blu-ray). But plz more movies, NEW MOVIES NOT REMAKES plz.
My son bought a HD DVD player for his Xbox and the picture is simply amazing. I my self am now shoping for a standalone player for my self. All studios should release on this format and let the public decide which player they want to support. I my self will be supporting HD DVD!
HD DVD is the better way to go! All studios who do not currently release movies on HD DVD should think of there shareholders and reconsider! HD DVD is far supperior.
There are more hd dvd players out there than blueray. I spend about $6,000 a year on home entertainment. Last year I bought 165 movies on dvd and for the monry hd dvd is the best platform out there. I can't believe all these studios would give so much control over the industry.
