I sign this petition to encourage all the major stupios to release more HD-DVD titles as a signal to show support to all the people who show a passion in HD-DVD.
I do not own a next generation format but buying the Dvd/Hd Dvd combo disks sounds like a win win situation for me entering the next generation.. However I would like to see more support from all the studios.
HD-DVD still has a very good chance of surviving, now all we need is more studios supporting us. HD-DVD will survive if we all work together. long live HD-DVD!
Besides the better quality, The the title captured my attention. People are familiar with DVDs and to simply put HD in front of it, tells us exactly what it is. Sony is selfish.
Demand for HD DVD remains steady. Internet sales for this format continue to be healthy. Amazon is moving these units, both players and discs, quite successfully. All recent sale ranks for HD DVD and Blu-ray can be found on various online vendors, again such as Amazon.
Companies that initially backed the competition have now jumped on board. Warner Home Video and Paramount Home Entertainment, for example, are now releasing their movies in both formats. LG, Pioneer, and NEC Electronics are planning to release a dual-format player as opposed to only Sony's Blu-ray. Hewlett-Packard has left Sony’s camp entirely and joined the HD-DVD bandwagon. Other companies that are also on board: Microsoft, Intel, Toshiba, RCA, Sanyo, Universal Studios, New Line Cinema, and HBO. Moreover, DVD Forum is pushing to establish HD DVD as the one and only format.
HD DVD is alive with less studio support. The format's name is "user friendly": it incorporates that whole High Definition phenomenon, and, at the same time, it relates to the current DVD technology that people already know and trust. Moreover, the HD DVD quality is great, thanks to Microsoft's VC-1 codec; it's inexpensive to manufacture the discs, similar to DVD's; and HD DVD players are at half the price to that of the competitor's.
Notice that Microsoft's HD DVD drive add-on for the Xbox 360 has sold 42,000 in the month of November, according to figures released by NPD Group, and another 50,000 units in December bringing it up to 100,000 total drives sold.
The movie industry has yet to see if the PS3 will have an impact in Blu-ray sales, if any, in the short term and long term. Sony's format may now be in a position to ensure both technologies lose should this "war" continue with no end in sight, as more people are watching over-the-air HD programming and downloading their high definition content by different means, such as the Xbox Live service, f
Dear Sony, Fox, Disney, Lionsgate, MGM and Buena Vista. Please allow us, the consumers the chance to pick our preference of which player to buy. I would love to own your titles on HD-DVD and buy not offering your titles on HD-DVD you are segmenting your market and not maxing out your profit margin by not offering your movies on both formats. You are doing the consumers and shareholders a disservice by choosing one format over another so soon.
Sincerely.
Tamer Gouda
Better overall quality media and more consumer friendly hardware cost. What else could you want?
All the movies I want to see the media of my choosing.
As a avid DVD purchaser I don't understand why any studio would not give the consumer what they want. You only have additional sales to gain by offering both formats. Please support HD DVD as well as Blu-ray. 2 or 3 years from now, if one format has clearly won the war, then do one. Let us decide what we want, not you. Respectiviely Submitted,

Love HD DVD!! Share the wealth with all of the great movies from ALL studios supporting HD DVD and then we'll see which format rings in more sales for you!! Everyone I know that has a high def format has HD DVD and not 1 has Bluray!! Sooo much more affordable as well!!
HD DVD is simply a better format at a better price. It's better for the consumer and I would love the opportunity to own your DVDs in HD DVD format.....Thank you.
Why pay $1000 for a format that is merely above average? I've yet to see ONE Blu ray disc that looks better than the HD DVD counterpart, if it even meets its standard. Please bring all of the rest of the films to HD DVD, so they may shine in all of their glory. Don't let them suffer on the subpar Blu ray!
HD DVD is clearer in my opinon and ALL my friends'. I'm being totally unbiased. Which is all that matters. What the consumer says, goes!
Even the special features are better than Blu ray
Giving the public a choice between two formats may be generous but what about when one beats the other? Then those who supported the losing format will be stuck! HD DVD all the way!
We would be ever so grateful if you would give us the opportunity to purchase your movies on HD DVD. For some of us movie lovers it's about more than just a name brand it is about Superior Quality, and that is what HD DVD provides.
Sincerely,
Steve
I can't understand what Disney and fox see in blu-ray. If Star Wars doesn't come out on HD and instead on blu-ray, may god have mercy on us all!!(just kidding, but not really)HD FOREVER
I am an owner of a new Toshiba HD-A2, and have bought a number of HD-DVD's, and will continue to buy more. Please make all of your catalogs available in the future in HD-DVD format. Thanks for your support.

I am buying as many HD DVDS as possible and Iam in medicalschool with no job. HD DVD is the all around best idea, it looks and sounds better and the cost of players and DVDs win. Stop Betamax 2 from occuring
I've decided to boycott Sony after the battery problems and rootkit calamity, but even if that weren't the case, I'd still be shooting for HD DVD. It's cheaper, easier to produce, and more recognizable.
When the Big Boys are squabbling about this crap, the customer loses due to the industry split. Stop the crap and adopt one format: HD DVD.
I love the Hd DVD picture quality and lack of region encoding. Looking at both Blu-Ray and HD DVD, the HD DVD mastering looks much better. I'll never give up my HD DVD Player.
All studio must support HD DVD movie. HD DVD need more movie title to releasing on HD DVD player. That dumb if all studio not coming on HD DVD. I want HD DVD winner the market war and I want to see Blu Ray die quickly and failed.
I have the 360 add on at it gives me a great picture at a much lower cost than blu ray. I also don't like how arrogant all the ps3 lovers are, saying that bluray must win and must somehow be better even though it's clearly not! Come on studios, support hd dvd!!
HD DVD VideoAudio is a Fantastic Component Format that Deserves Greater Support from the Movie Industry!! Please Release More of the Current Films and Productions on the HD DVD Format for the Public to Enjoy the Best HD has to Offer!! Thanks for this Consideration!
Consistently better picture quality. Inexpensive players and inexpensive to produce. Simply a better choice for studios, manufacturers, and the consumer.
