simply put, HDDVD is the better choice right now!l I own 40 hddvd's and will buy ONLY hddvds. I plan on buying at lesat another 50 movies this year. Disney, FOX...you are missing the boat here. give us the movies and we WILL buy them.
HD DVD is all own and all i plan on owning unless it disappears. Its a great product and there is no reason the other major companies should remain exclusive to BR.
From European Union (Spain). Here many people are supporting the HD-DVD format with the 360's addon now selling for 169€. That's too good to be true! Toshiba needs to push a little more in Europe, I already buy some imports from USA, the region-free is a GREAT advantage too. I buy from UK, France
I thank all the studios that currently support the HD DVD format for their great releases and continued support. But please don't hold back HD DVD titles that are ready simply because the Blueray version isn't ready.
Hd dvd has been consistent and the better thought out format from the start..plus I hate sony and their bullish tactics and this format war is the last straw for me. I will not buy a sony product again.
I have seen both and own an HD-DVD Player i prefer HD-DVD's superior video quality while blu-ray has decent video id doesnt compare to the flawless beauty of HD-DVD
I currently own approximately 3000 movie titles. I will be converting many to HD DVD but will not purchase Bluray due to cost, quality and Sony's attitude.
I tend to believe that Blu-ray for movies is nothing more than a short-term fad/fiasco. The whole technology has been targeted for those with deeper pockets, not your average middle-class consumer. Feel relatively confident that HD DVD will dominate Blu-ray within the next couple years. Just wait until the sub $200 HD DVD players emerge, people will jump on those. Don't believe the Blu-ray camp will ever release any affordable players.
Upon release, HD-DVD delivered what appears to be a complete product. Compare what is a total solution on the shelf right now to the promises that continue to be made by the Blu-Ray camp. One of the basic retail sales principles is "S.W.A.T." Sell What's Available Today. The Blu-Ray exclusive studio marketing managers may want to re-examine their priorities and look into delivering content on a working platform available right now instead of a platform promised for tomorrow.
I held off purchasing a high-def dvd player until recently. Last week, I purchased a Toshiba HD-DVD player. I'm ordering a Xbox 360 HD-DVD player as well -- AND -- I just ordered an HP Pavillion 17" notebook with the upgraded HD-DVD drive. I made my choices. HD-DVD has too much to offer not to support it - fully! BRING on the MOVIES!
Please realise that hd dvd vc-1 codec is a clearer picture than that of blu-ray's mpeg2. Just bring more movies to hd dvd and watch you studio gain more profit share!
I am not asking the movie studios to exclusively release on HD DvD. All I am asking is that they give us, the consumers, a choice. Please start releasing your movies on all the formats. Thank you.
FOX, MGM and Disney. Please begin to support the better HD disk format in the near future. HD DVD has a more flexible special feature potential than the Blu-ray. Thank you.
I implore the studios not supporting HD-DVD to rethink their business model. For the studios, the money is in software, not hardware. HD-DVD can be licensed to anyone, which if history repeats (VHS, Microsoft Windows) means it will become the dominant format. (Dominant does always mean best, although in HD-DVD's case I'd argue it does.) But dominant does mean more money in the studios pocket. Come to HD-DVD now to end the format fight sooner and the customers WILL come.
Please support HD DVD. I cannot afford to support 2 formats and will not support 2 formats. I support HD DVD. I made my choice now its time for the movie studios to make theirs.
HD DVD is the people's choice. Time to let the people choose instead of forcing a format down our throats. Your only alienating your companies from some of the biggest movie fans out there.
Its very simple. I will never support Blu Ray and I am a fanatical Movie buyer with over 2000 SD DVD to my name thus far and over 130 HD DVD Titles. If you want my HD money then you will ultimately end up supporting HD DVD. Its your loss if you dont, not mine. I can always just buy the SD DVD if its not available on HD DVD. Just my 2 cents.
even if your studio currently only supports Blu-ray why not support Hd-dvd as well it will mean more $$$ and happt consumers and everyone knows happy consumers spend more.
HD DVD is better, it's time to face facts.
Reviews of titles on both formats are ALWAYS in favor of HD DVD, whether it be the exceptional video transfers, the higher quality audio tracks, or the enchanced special features.
As of now, 4/16, on Amazon.com, out of the top 50 selling HD titles, Blu-ray only has 15!
How 'bout them apples?
When BluRay has supposedly got a 10:1 player advantage, why are HDDVD's disc sales not being eclipsed (1.66:1 - 04/07) ?!?
Wake up Disney and Fox, can't you see Sony fed you a turkey with the pre-installed user base argument! Hop onboard HDDVD and let everyone enjoy your great movies.
