hd dvd rocks !!!...i have a ps3 , but belive me it is not my main hd movie veiwer, it is in the den were kids play games..thats why hd dvd should and will win this war .....hd dvd all the way !!!
HD DVD is way better than blu ray. It has way more titles available and its more affordable for the standard consumer. Whereas blu ray seems to be more supported by nerds and rich people.
Saw a blu-ray player in comet, not that impressed even with the 1080p movie playing, thought it was satellite to be honest, I own the Tosh HD-E1 now, much clearer more vivid experience than I saw in store and for £220 bargain :)
Just spent $600 on media for my HD DVD player (which I purchased same day). Studio's that release content I can purchase, get their share of my wallet. Studio's that don't ...don't.
HD DVD is cheaper. I don't really see the point in anybody buying Blu Ray discs. If for some reason HD DVD does lose then I will buy DVDs for the next few years and then hop onto digital distribution.
Why aren't they pushing this product harder here in australia??? all i see is blue ray crap! I want to go to a store and choose a movie and take it home instead of buying online!! Why the hell is warner bros supporting blu ray as well????
I am looking to buy my first HD player and am going with a Toshiba HD-DVD . Why? Most of my major DVD purchases are tv series and Warner Brothers and Universal already support my fave shows! What I want? HEY FOX! Release the X-files on HD-DVD! I am ready to replace my 10year old dvds with new bright hd disks but will not be buying a blu-ray and I am not interested in a Sony Playstation.I own every version ever released of Star Wars on VHS and DVD- would love to add the first HD-DVDs to my library.I spend thousands per year on disks and buy a new player every 2 years or so as I wear them out- I am not buying a $1000 player every 2 years. Listen to your consumers and go with the market driven leader!
you can see in plain 1080p greatness that hd dvd is better then blu ray! it doesnt need a gimmicky name it just needs to deliver what it promises - and the hd dvd promise is the look and sound of perfect, and so far from what i have watched it has delivered!
I asked my local EzyDVD about which has been more popular and they said that HD DVD was getting heaps more attention from customers than blu-ray has. It would be absolutely silly not to make the move to HD DVD as the consumer support is much bigger than you might realise
HD has better quality and has a better price. I think warner and paramount pictures are the best right now for going multi platform. Now that china and walmart are making and selling hd dvd players i hope the other blu ray companies will switch and go multi platform
HD DVD has been proven less expensive to manufacture, and studios should note that the public wants affordable high def. Thats all we are waiting for. Go HD DVD!
Blu ray is a good format; HD-DVD and Blu ray offer the same stuff actually. The problem with Blu ray, sony is a media giant, they make the hardware, the software and produce the content. If blu ray wins the format war, sony can pretty much dictate the price on the software and the hardware, and since sony will pretty much have a monopoly here, with backers and technology, where will future innovations come from? The rumor also is that with sony’s new media muscle, in the next 5 years sony will stop pressing regular DVD’s, forcing consumers to buy blu ray. Sony is using a forced marketing strategy for blu ray, Want to watch our movies? Well you need our player. The consumer has no real choice here, those of us who own HD-DVD miss out of many titles, but we have faith in our product, we hope that studios like Disney will press content in HD-DVD, we won’t be forced into buying blu ray. As consumers buying these products, where’s our say? Let the consumers decide what they want, put out the same content on both formats and let us decide what we want. Blu ray is good, it’s also over priced. HD-DVD is also good, affordable.
Sony makes broken machines, they usually break withhin a year and as i have seen with blu-ray they don't even have the os finalized, id be pissed if i bought a farrari and then it turned out to be a pinto because a year later they came out with something better. I have hd-dvd and love it!
With a personal DVD library over 550 movies.. I am well within the major studios target demographic. Don't lose out on my hard earned money, unless Sony is going to pay you the difference!
far better option hor hd movies than blu ray....FOX come one release yor hd movies on Hd dvd as this makes more sense and better consumer choice. also Lucas's THX standard is more attune to HD dvd than blu-ray because of mandatory dd and truHD. hence HD dvd a better option for STAR wARS ....
Don't they understand most folks just HATE $ony and all their ill conceived proprietary formats? Absolutely baffled *any* studios would side with them. Studios don't want my money? I find that a real kick.
I have a HD-DVD player and love the thing to death. I own 20 Hd-DVDs on it and plan on buying alot more. If the studios would only support both formats and let the consumer decide which format they like best. HD-DVD has impressed me way more then Blu-Ray. Movie Studios please support HD-DVD too.
