Though I own both formats, I prefer HD-DVD, and have held off on many blu-ray releases because of my preference. If you want me to purchase, release in HD-DVD, even if there were limited print runs of titles.
HD DVD is a cheaper solution. Support on this side is not for the benefit for one, but the benefit for all: the consumer, the developers and the distributors.
I easily notice the difference between the qualtiy of bluray and hd dvd - and let me tell you that hd dvd is vastly sharper looking - bluray might sound cool but for the price - not worth it. i'd rather invest the diiffernce in price for souround sounda and other gadgets that would enhance my high def viewing experience- hd dvd... I'll buy your films on HD-DVD but I will NOT buy a Blu-Ray device. Ever! I don't support being told what I have to buy and support. Also, I will not pay to watch or buy movies from your company until you offer the consumer a choice. HD-DVD took into account the needs of consumers and made certain technologies a requirement. the Blu-Ray companies did not and now their customers have to suffer for their greed.
HD-DVD is MY format of choice. The codec is better, the mandatory technology is better and the support from the developing companies is better. Please offer your films on HD-DVD.
After considerable reflection I have purchased an HD-DVD player. It offers a cost effective solution to HD video and provides the best entertainment potential with it's interactive features. Studios, please start to support HD-DVD asap.
I feel that the HD-DVD format has the best video and sound quality. Therefore, I have purchased a Toshiba XA2 HD-DVD player. I do not plan to buy another format for a long time. So please consider releasing your movies on the HD-DVD format.
