I support this petition. dumb move by WB! man fall goes hand in hand with harry potter what hollidays are in fall? thanksgiving in HP they have great feasts with pumpkins and butter beer and fall stuff the other holiday halloween! what goes better with halloween then wizards and witches?! very very stupid move cause the air and atmosphere are way differnt in the fall compared to the summer! specially in movies during the summer id rather see transformers 2 revenge of the fallen over HP compared to the fall were id rather see HP and besides with the econemy plumeting the way it is are people really going to be able to afford seeing multiple "BLOCK BUSTER?" have fun losing money WB!!
Mr. Horn: “Our reasons for shifting ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment."
Reasonable people: Winter is just as good as a time for a movie to come out as in the summer. If they really want to market Half Blood Prince as a family movie, wouldn't thanksgiving be a prefect time to release it? Thanksgiving is a time when families come together. Perfect. And really, this is not a kid's movie. I mean, did you see the trailer? WB can only get away with the family theme for so long.
Their logic about summer releases making more money because Order of the Phoenix was the second highest earning of the films is bullshit. They happened to release a popular movie in the summer. And note that it wasn't the first on the list. However, the first highest grossing of them was, guess what, released right around Thanksgiving.
Jeff Robinov: “The release date change does not alter the production schedule for this or future Harry Potter films. Post-production on ‘Half-Blood Prince’ was completed on time...In fact, the good news for them is that the gap will now be shortened between ‘Half-Blood Prince’ and the first part of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’”
People who think before talking: So the film would be ready in time. So let it be released! And we were all fine with the release date for Deathly Hallows, so don't try to use that as an excuse.
Mr. Heyman: "We are all looking forward to sharing it with Harry Potter fans around the world, even if we have to wait just a bit longer.”
Offended fans: Yea right. You just want the money. If you cared about the fans, you wouldn't have changed the date.
I support this petition.
WB doesn't need this they always broke the box office records no matter when the film came out, and the fans will go and watch it anyway even if there are other movies on and about. There's more than one evening in the week.
I support this petition. Not only is it unfair to the fans but also all the people who made the movie will need to wait almost a year to see their hard work. Plus Harry Potter will have stiff competition next summer with Transformers 2 and Hannah Montana.
I support this petition. The first Harry Potter movie was released on November 16th and ending up being the highest grossing movie out of all 5 films. You guys at WB really don't care about the fans. JK do something!
Dear WB:
I realize that you probably think that a majority of Harry Potter fans are young Children, so if you make a few changes, postpone the release date they won't really notice or care.
You have however ticked off a LOT of fans, many of whom are Adults.
Do you realize that by making these type of decisions, you turn away the very people who you depend on to make money and break Box Office Records during the opening week.
I realize most fans will leave nice posts saying "Please don't delay the movie".
I'm telling you, if you have an ounce of common sense, care about the bottom line, MONEY, you will re-think your decision.
Again, I realize that the fans probably mean nothing to you more than MONEY, but if you follow through with this decision, I promise you, you will lose a lot of money.
I'm not a financial expert, but seriously, how much money will it cost you to re-neg on your original release date.
If you do this, I hope you at least apologize to the fans without playing the blame game and saying "but they did this". I hope you are responsible enough to apologize without laying blame to the writer's strike. The bottom line is We don't care.
You are making a decision at the expense of your fans, and in the long run, your own pay cheques. If this does wind up being true, you will have a lot of explaining to do.
If you wait until July 2009 to release the movie, I won't see it and I guarantee many others will do the same. I just hope other people ask their friends to refuse to see any major WB motion picture. I know people who are planning to see Dark Knight. So hopefully enough people will see this and pass the word.
HONESTLY! How greedy can WB freaking get? The filming is already done! Are they so incompetant taht they can't even edit a film?
OMG! THIS IS A FREAKING OUTRAGE!
As if this is even at at all related to the writers strike. This is just another way for WB to greedily hoard as much money as they possibly can. I'm disgusted, but I'm not surprised.
I support this petition. Not only that...I am UTTERLY SHOCKED & DISAPPOINTED that Warner Bros would do such a thing!! Shame on you Warner Bros... And now thinking that with 3 months to go till Harry Potter 6 will premier, I am damn PISSED that we will need to clock back to 11 months till Harry Potter 6 will be premiered. Warner Brothers, you really let us (Harry Potter fans)down this time!!! :(

I support this petition!!!! This is disgusting!!! The writer's strike is OLD news!!! Why release a teaser trailer if they knew the movie was going to be pushed back. Not even by a short amount of time...they pushed it back 11 MONTHS!!!! I'm seriously peeved. WB are scum!
I support this petition. Harry Potter is a holiday film; I never liked the movies coming out in the summer, always preferred the Thanksgiving time period.
I support this petition.
This is a business decision at the expense of all the HP fans and children who love HP. This just proves that WB is run by a bunch of DEATHEATERS!!! Change the release date back to November!!! Do it NOW before HP becomes nothing more than just a sour taste in my mouth!!!
I support this petition. I am so very disappointed and angry at the same time. Shame on you WB! Won't be wasting my time on any WB movies in the future!
