Speaking of morons, ahhh, are you so stupid you can't spell your name? Then again calling you stupid would be an insult to stupid people. I have no political affliation. I just find it offensive to call this conflict a war and it belittles the people that died supporting it. Of course I wouldn't expect a moron like you to comprehend my statement. You probably voted for Bush which makes you partly responsible for the mess this country is going to experience in the coming years. The fact remains that, he is an idiot. Just look at the way he handles press conferences, speeches and some of the absurd statements he makes. The man is complete dolt, much like you, who bases his opinions and decisions on assumptions. I know what this petition is about. ..unfortunately in your world people can't comment on anything without some getting an insulted. After meeting you, I've decided I am in favor of abortion in cases of incest, is that political enough for you?

I bet Howard Smith is a democrat. If it were Clintons war, it would've been a wise decision. I knew the democratic whining was going to get worse after they got brutally defeated in the 2004 elections. The democratic motto: "If you can't beat them, whine like a baby" Howard Smith, you moron. This wasn't a political petition, it was a petition to respect soldiers. Geez....

Please do not refer this conflict as a war. It is a police action. Iraq posed no direct threat to the United States. George Bush took it upon himself take action against Iraq in retaliation for 9/11 because he could not capture the true persons responsible. He did this under the pretense of protecting freedom and liberating a people under tyrannical rule. And the additional pretense this nation possessed weapons of mass destruction. Even if they did, they made no declaration of direct hostility towards the United States. To do so would have been foolhardy and suicidal. We as a Nation know that the might of our forces would take days to completely destroy their country. We’ve seen the proof. Bush did not take into account these people once liberated would not and will not fully understand organized government. They continue to proliferate violence and destruction upon their own people and cities. They do this while taking the lives of their liberators and benefactors of aid. Unfortunately its opinion whether these people are better off now than under the control of Saddam Hussein. Regardless, the point here is that it is not a war. If indeed it were a war, Iraq would suffer more consequences than they could ever imagine. Calling this conflict a police action and a foolhardy one at that makes the deaths of these civilians, aid workers, servicemen and women more poignant than if you call it a war. They gave their lives knowing that it may not be a worthy cause they were fighting for. In their hearts they believed in equal liberties and freedom that they experienced at home should be those of others. Right or wrong, they believed the people of Iraq deserved the same. So fly your flag at half staff on March 19th, 2005. If you can’t fly it because they participated in an unworthy cause, fly it because they were somebody’s father or mother, son or daughter.
