True story:

When traveling in the subway, a gang of vulgar men got inside the train. At a time when many children are usually getting out of school. This gang started to rap (hip-hop) in the train about the people who were sitting down. They started to sing hate chants and curse words making fun of the people and children in the train. There were five of them about 30 years old and another man reading a book who said "will you guys please let me read?"

Upon hearing that the leader of the band put his hands on his waist. Opening his jacket, and while still rapping, you could see a huge gun on his waist. Then he followed up with rapping insults about the man who asked if he could continue to read. The gangster was saying "and this nerd who told me to shut up and let him read will get a bullet right on his forehead" and they continued to chant hatred to everyone. Soon enough someone tried to call the police but as they arrived to the next stop they all got out of the subway.

A small SHORT story, how gang members and street trash are using hip-hop and rap to hurt those who are around. To those who live in the suburbs; you have no idea what hip-hop is about. Hip-hop is a devil's chant for destruction. Chants promoting violence, encouraging rape, crime, drugs, unemployment (indolence) etc.

Once children leave the safety of a program like Sesame Street and Between the Lions, the places outside the house; they come face to face to a world where hip-hop is not the chants of the alphabet, or about a story from an educational book. They find themselves listening to cursing and hate. Do you want this for your children? Do you want them to grow to be wearing falling pants, showing their underwear and cursing by the time they are 12? Support the petition to eliminate this disgrace from the future of our children's daily programs.

PBS needs to know we are against hip-hop in our children's programs, because hip-hop has turned to an epidemic rather than a positive message to the world.
