The situation in New Orleans is getting worse as each day passes. I am trying to devise a plan so that people like me and you can help these people that don't have a place to go, don't know what to do, and don't know how they are going to continue to live.

Hotels are only opening their doors to those who have money to stay there. It's sad to see all these people, tens of thousands, don't have a place to go because their house is under water. Why can't hotels open their doors to these refugees? Yes, I know hotels are businesses and they have to make their money, but come on!! This is a time of need. America needs to step up and stop being so greedy! There's nowhere for these people to go!

The Superdome is being evacuated because conditions inside are becoming so inhabitable, it's unsafe to breathe the air. These 20,000+ victims are being transported to the Astrodome in Texas. IN TEXAS!!! because there is nowhere to bring them!
No one has ever seen this city like this before. There are so many people there that are trying to survive.
There was a story on the news about a woman and her family. She drove from New Orleans to Baton Rouge and on the way here, her car broke down. She made it to a hotel, but was told she had to be out by noon because her time was up. She had nowhere to go, her car was broken, no idea what to do! How can people be so greedy and so mean and so careless? It makes me sick!

So, I am trying to figure out a way to help these people. They despirately need help. I don't know how to help the victims. Maybe if I can get some kind of petition out there to the American people so they can see how bad the situation is. If anyone has any ideas, and would like to help me put something together, please let me know. I would love to start a donation of some sort, but I have no idea where to begin.

In the meantime, please sign this. We need as many signatures possible so that I can send this to President Bush. I don't think the American people realize how horrible the situation in New Orleans is. This is something NO ONE has ever experienced in America. If you want to take a stand with me, let your voice be heard!

I was in Hurricane Katriana and I moved to Texas my friend gets to see her grandparents every other day i hate how her parents force her to do that i only get to see one of my grandparents once a year for 2 weeks!! please send this!!! i want to see all my grandparents more than once a year!

First of all, the government started welfare for poor white trash who could not help themselves and second of all the average Black person work to make your granddaddy's stock stay afloat. The fact is that the people of New Orleans acted in a completely unacceptable way. They begged for help, and then shot at the helicopters trying to rescue people and drop supplies. It IS YOUR OWN FAULT if you live in a city 12 feet under sea level and you don't evacuate when a category 4 hurrican is coming at your ass. There are so many cities across the country that have lended a helping hand and most of them have been ****ed by the evacuees. The simple fact that there were murders and rapes in the only place in New Orleans that was "safe" speaks about the character of the people involved. I am not a racist, bigot, or classist, but for most of the people involved in this disaster, they behaved in a manner that is worthy of a word like "******", "hillbilly", "spci", "whop", or any other word you want to apply to a person that acts in such a manner as to abandon all reason and civilised manners and directly disregard decency and self-respect. It is not the government's or any individual's duty to make up for the sheer stupidity and "jack-assery" of most of the people that stayed in New Orleans and then had to have their asses saved by the same people they say are "evil." WHO SAVED THEIR ASSES? NOT THE DAMN CORRUPT-ASS MAYOR, NOT THE GOVERNOR, BUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE MIDDLE CLASS OF AMERICA THAT SUPPOSEDLY HATES THEM!!!!!

I agree with everyone except the author of this stupid ****ing petition. Its not the governments fault 90% of everyone in New Orleans was on welfare. Its their fault. Its also their fault for living in a city that was build below sea level, that happens to boarder the Gulf of Mexico. Fuck em. The transplants that have infected my area have done nothing but increase the crime rate. 2-3 per week are shown on the news in cuffs, being led off to the jail for either stealing or raping some 12 year old girl. Why can't they leave their humongous penises in their pants? In closing I'd like to state that it will happen again. Only a fool would rebuild a ****ing toilet like New Orleans. I agree with Todd. God probobly DID create Hurricane Katrina for a reason. Black people mostly DO choose to live life the sinful way, rather than accepting it and being good to people. Those people do not deserve to live in New Orleans once they fix it. If they are not going to appreciate life, why chance it?
