We, the undersigned, ask ITVS and the attendees of INPUT 2005 to honor the boycott of the Hilton hotel and move the conference to an alternative location. We understand that the employees of the Hilton as well as 13 other San Francisco hotels have been embroiled in a bitter labor dispute for the better part of a year and have called for a boycott of the hotel. We understand that these hotel workers are fighting for decent healthcare, fair wages, respect on the job and a process for non-union hotel employees to be able to choose union representation in an atmosphere free of intimidation and coercion.
Further, we want to be able to have our films shown to the widest audience possible, which we don’t believe is possible if there is a boycott at the event location.
We believe that if ITVS continues to hold INPUT 2005 at the Hilton, you will not be representing the values upon which you were founded. Please do the right thing and hold ITVS at an alternative location.
