Give Incentives to Increase Organ Donation
Published December 23, 2009
I request that my representatives in Congress change federal law to allow state legislatures or the federal government to oversee the implementation of regulated and ethically sound organ donor compensation programs. Such programs would offer meaningful indirect financial incentives to families who agree to donate the organs of a family member who has died (cadavaric donation) and also for significant indirect financial incentives to be given to anyone who is willing to donate his or her kidney while alive.
