The Innu Indians of Quebec are being forced to sell their ancestral home lands by the provincial government of Quebec. Here we have another case of genocide by government being controlled by a U.S. corporation, hydro electric, financed by the Rockefeller’s of New York state.

The Innu people who own millions of acres of wilderness land in the upper Quebec province of Canada, have harvested, moose, cariboo, geese inland and have fished along the eastern Atlantic coast for thousands of years. Some of the traditional Innu have recently put together a small fleet of fishing boats and would like to process their own catch rather then utilizing the commercial processing plants. The french provincial government of Quebec will not give the Innu people the permits to build the processing plants unless they sell their land to the provincial government of Quebec. The point of becoming self-sustaining is so they won’t have to rely on government subsidies for their sustenance.

We ask that you sign this petition to support the traditional Innu people to obtain the needed permits without having to sell their ancestral lands to the corporate interest that will ruin millions of acres of wilderness and displace more indigenous people.

I support this petition because the Innu people desire to become self-sustaining and do not want to rely on government subsidies, if that is what they desire and are capable of doing they should be allowed that opportunity. They have lived and functioned this way for hundreds of years and should not be prevented from continuing their way of life.

Let the Innu Indians live as they have always lived - and let New Yorker's live a little less vibrant life.

I live in Hawai'i. The U.S. is still engaged in stealing and attempting to steal land here. I wish the Innu great fortune in fighting the taking of their land.
