I support this petition because the Innu people desire to become self-sustaining and do not want to rely on government subsidies, if that is what they desire and are capable of doing they should be allowed that opportunity. They have lived and functioned this way for hundreds of years and should not be prevented from continuing their way of life.
I live in Hawai'i. The U.S. is still engaged in stealing and attempting to steal land here. I wish the Innu great fortune in fighting the taking of their land.
Be smart people! Listen to both sides before making up your mind!
The people behind this petition don't want you to have all the facts. Watch how long it takes before they censor this post away...like they've done with others that encourage free thinking.
Je remerçi tous le monde qui a signé cette pétition.
Ils en faut plusieur autre pour assuré la souvrainté du peuple INNU et ce n'ai qu'un début. Chef tradidionnel Innu

I am in full support of the Sovereignty of my brothers and sister of the Innu people, Their way of life is critical for all of us indigenous people's here on turtle island.
From Native American Concepts -Truth is the only real power and it is our protection. Conquest, genocide, plunder and theft is mis-using the intellect and 5-senses as a weapon to destroy self and others. That is the blasphemous and insane world of addiction to greed - Dineh Nation
all of this land of turtle island was stolen through conquest and trickery by europeans. If anyone should be asking for rights, it's the europeans! It's their right, it's their land! The government and unconcienable corporations need to recognize this.
It's time for the government of canada and the u.s. to honor it's existing treaties. Democracy and freedomm start at home. christian values have to be lived and not just bandied about when it's polictically expedient.
Do not take the Innu's People land from them!
When is enough, enough? How can those who came to this land take what rightfully belongs to others and feel it is OK?
Please do not disrespect the Innu Indians by treating them less than you would want to be treated.
Might does not mean Right... it means to use tht might with compassion for those in need of help.
Think of how you would feel if you were in their place.
Show them the Mercy you would wish for yourselves to be shown.
Merci!

I offer my full and complete solidarity, to my Innu brothers and sisters. Together our efforts, shall make a difference, and keep the nation strong for future generations.
Merci!
Lets preserve this land where the Innu live. Stop the ceaseless search for corporation wealth at the expense of Indigenous peoples! That our people may live and preserve for the future generations and the animal brothers/sisters.
Why is it so hard for the goverments to listen to what the First Nations people have been telling them for years. When will you give them and the rest of us the right to live. Life is more than the parasitic belief system of a corporation. If we dont decide to change, the decision will be made for us. Allow the Innu and all first nations the right to be. You may be saving your future generations from the Genocide by corporations. Nothing is bigger that the Creator and Mother Earth
let the people live the way they have lived for many years...here is government using their muscle again to wipe out a proud race of indigenous people...when is this going to stop..when there is nothing left of this earth for are young people...please we must stop this now, before there will not be nothing left...
Do Not Take the Innu People's land!! Your corporation will do yourselves great harm by depriving them of their sovereign earth. Permit the Innu to build their own processing plants on their own land. Your future generations will thank you for not only being good and decent Canadians but for encouraging the survival of the very earth itself--which is in the heritage of the Innu People to accomplish.
I fully support the Innu in being as self reliant as possible. I feel that it is critical that all indiginous people be givin respected as care takers of thier homelands. I feel it is critical to the continuation of life in a benevolent way for all, that they be allowed these rights. Please put the health and well being of these people and thier culture above the further development of the commercial/governmental desires for growth.
To the Governments cocerened. Let these Indigenous Peoples have their permits to what they need to do. Their culture good faith and lives depend on this. You took this away from them now GIVE it back! This is not a game it is the FUTURE of all involved. SUPPORT these people. i will do all I can to help! I hope you do too. I will pass this along to both sides of the border and beyond the great waters . Thank you
The Innu are one of the very few remaining peoples on the earth that can still connect directly with her. it is to all of our advantage that they remain untouched. The signs are all there for you to see. Find a heart!
I am French Canadian and am appalled and embarrassed by the conduct of our governments. I am in full support of the Innu people's efforts towards "self-governance" . . . let them be an example to us all!!!
The Innu are one of the last indigenous peoples on Turtle Mountain to have kept their language, their ceremonies and their culture dispite many years of colonialization by the French and now the English and Americans. They deserve all the help that we can bring them.
