We the undersigned would like to request that Governor M. Jodi Rell declare July 26 2008 as JONAS BROTHERS DAY in Connecticut. July 26 is the day of their concert in Hartford at the New England Dodge Music Center.

There are many reasons for declaring a special day for the boys:

1. They are positive role models. In these days where many teen idols are arrested, pregnant, or in rehab, it is refreshing to see a group of young men who are respectful not only to everyone around them, but are respectful of themselves. Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas are not afraid to express their feelings on drugs and sex and setting a positive example to teens worldwide. All teens definitely benefit from the postive influence these boys provide.

2. They are generous. The brothers continue to donate their time and money to various causes. In addition to their many donations, the boys have set up a foundation to raise funds for juvenile diabetes.

3. They care about their fans. The boys are sensitive to the fact that their shows sell out quickly, so to insure that all fans are able to see them perform they have giving free concerts. The boys are also in constant communications with their fans via their fan club, Facebook, MySpace, and other media.

4. Their music is uplifting and provides a positive message. Love, caring, honesty...those are only some of the positive messages relayed through their music. Listen to any JB song and you will not find any inappropriate language or content.

Declaring July 26 as JONAS BROTHERS DAY in Connecticut sends out a strong message that the values and messages that the boys represent are very much respected and honored. Our teens need all the positive messages and guidance they can get and this would be a wonderful way of showing that.
