Save the J F Kennedy Aircraft Carrier, and make a museum ship out of it. The government can spend billions on worthless projects, so they should be able to take a little of that money and put it into this project
I served on this ship from 1996-2000. I was on it when it sailed on the Millennium Cruise of 1999-2000. I greatly support the idea of turning this ship into a museum for all to enjoy, especially in the city of Boston.
I fully support saving the JFK. There is no more perfict fit than as a museum in Boston. Walt WaiteVice PresidentUSS AMERICACarrier VeteransAssociation
What a fantastic idea! It is our supercarriers that represent the modern US navy since WW2! We need the JFK more than another Battleship as a museum! A tribute to the airmen, sailors and marines that have been ensuring our safety during and after the Cold War.
i served with her from 83/85.v-1/fly-1 and aimd departed ship as a ad-3 i was willing to give my life for my country. cv-67 gave her life for her country, too. please keep her afloat and hase gray
My brother served on the Kennedy and died just shortly after he was discharged! His time on the Kennedy I believe was some on the best times he had in his life!
PLEASE SAVE THE KENNEDY,IF NOT TO BE USED FOR BATTLE AGAIN THEN AS A DEDICATED MUSEUM,POSSIBLY OUTSIDE BOSTON,IT WOULD BRING IN LOTS OF $$$$, ESPECIALLY WITH THE HISTORY IN NEW ENGLAND
My name is Bob Ascolillo. Between 1975 and 1979 I was attached to Attack Squadron 34,Carrier Airwing One, Kennedy's Airwing. I made three extended deployments, and countless training excursions aboard Big John, and none of them were "cruises" . Those were for the love boat. I was a Line division Flight Deck Troubleshooter, and Aircraft Finalchecker and launched Intruders of the pointy end, for most of my time at sea. And part of my soull will always be on her flight deck. There has been much talk and bravado about bringing Kennedy back to Boston, mostly by the politicians that have gone aboard here from time to time, and get caught up in the public relations part of the whole thing. They haven't a clue what it is to love thier ship the way many sailors do.I have been trying to get my foot in the door with the city of Boston, and thier supposed efforts to bring Big John home to Boston(make no mistake, she belongs here), but have received nothing short of lip service.I am therefore making an appeal. If you are interested, please spread the word. Writ to Senator ted Kennedy, and to Boston City Councilor Stephen Murphy(sponsor of the effort) to bring Big John to Boston. And please have anyone you know visit this site and put thier two cents in.Bob Ascolillo AE2 USNR VA-34 CVW1CV-67 1975-1979
A great man, a great ship. We need our heroes. Please preserve this ship so I and my children's children may walk her decks and remember the heroes who sailed on her and the man for whom she was named.

We need this ship - for the morale of our troops now on the battlefield, for the morale of those that have been there long ago,and for all those who will go. The strength of our military will always be in direct proportion to the way we treat our veterans. We need this ship.
