Christmas, celebrated by the most religious of Christians to those who just like the festive season, is a time to get together with friends and family to celebrate the story of the birth of Jesus. Jesus, who is believed to be the man who saved humanity from their sins and showed the world what being a true Christian, or even just a humble human being, was all about. What possessed your magazine to put such a public figure as Katie Price/Jordan on the front cover of an issue dressed as this woman?
Mary was frowned upon in her village for being pregnant out of wedlock and was threatened to be stoned. Just as Jordan would have been living in that society with Harvey. Fortunately for her she lives in the UK in the 21st century.
Recently in the news a British school teacher was imprisoned in Sudan with all manner of threats just because she let her class name a teddy bear after a religious figure. The world religion of Islam was, on the whole, outraged by the action. Christians feel the same about the publication of this image, for some reason you feel it’s ok to disrespect the main religion of this country and the entire meaning of the festivities which surely even you too have celebrated with your families and friends. Pretty damn lucky you’re a western culture magazine that can supposedly get away with this, isn’t it?
To this day thousands if not millions of women and children are either raped or forced into prostitution/people trafficking during their lifetime, many of whom will be enduring this at this particular time of year. This is a time when we are requested to step back and think about them, our fellow human beings in this race, who 2008 years ago Jesus Christ, son of the Virgin Mary, attempted to rescue from this crazy world of sin and loss of self respect. Jordan is publicly recognised for what she's done with her body and dignity over time in the public eye; don't you just find this all far too ironic?
We are not using this as an excuse to shun Jordan for what she does/has done, we are not campaigning as necessarily Christians, we are just those who believe the true meaning and spirit of the season should be respected and that an apology should be made.
