We support the principle of judicial council reform and specifically including a student-wide election as part of the process to selecting members of the judicial council. We call on Sam Sadler to make this change which over 80% of the voters in the last student election endorsed.

It doesnt make sense that most other positions are democratically elected yet Judicial Council, something that weighs in quite heavily for most students, is not

Democracy demands elections for Judicial Council, Honor Council, and all branches of student government. Appointing members encourages patronage and resume padding. Reform is both necessary and right.
