Since they have no talent, they try to get people to like them by calling themselves punk. Real punk isnt just an item, you cant just dress it up and call it that. Thats what these bands are attempting to do. Second of all, it isnt a generalization to be a part of this subculture. It's just a system of beliefs, music, and way of life. Why are people so asthetically involved in this?

Not to be rude or anything, but in my opinion, Simple Plan and all of the other mainstream bands like them are unorigional and artificial. I really wouldn't mind them that much if they would stop dressing the way they do, and whining about how crappy their lives are. It makes them seem so much more fake. If they just did their own thing and stopped trying to be what they're not, I wouldn't have a problem with them. It's just the fact that they are labelling themselves as "Punk rawkers" just because it's becoming the cool thing again.
