Although, historically the Katrina infrastructure breakdowns was not an accident, it's a real shame for the United States not to be able to take care of her people. Some cases proved that our governenmt's responses were simply outrageously inhuman. It's worse than any third world country.

This petition verbalizes much of the frustration that I have been feeling, but is there a more immediate way of exacting direct action and pressure upon "our" government? Can we take direction from our brothers and sisters who have been displaced from the Gulf Coast? What do they need... want? And how can we support them? And who's voices aren't being heard?

Additionally, in rebuilding the cities affected by the hurricane a sexist science has titled "katrina" -- it is necessary to continue implementing affirmative action policies! Those folk of color, with DisAbilities, of the assigned-gender 'female', and those of the LGB/PTI [aka "Queer] community must be given the chance to sincerely rebuild their cities and communities! Let us *not* allow these un-united states act as though racism, classism, DisAbleism, homo & transphobia, xenophobia, and more don't exist anymore. This govt's responses to the hurricane are sufficient illustration that those forms of domination and exploitation are running this nation!
