this petition hits the nail on the head. some people may not want to believe that our so called government is capable of doing what they did to these victims but I know other wise. These people deserve to have their lifes back no matter what it takes!
because the way survivors of Hurricane Katrina have been treated is racism at its ugliest. Corporate America sent in their goons to do their dirty work...without movements such as this New Orleans will be the next victim of gentrification. The residents deserve the right to return. They deserve their dignity and they deserve the same rights afforded all americans under the constitution.
RIGHT TO RETURN!!!
This petition is the most racist thing I've ever read. It is time my fellow people take responsibility for their lives and stop trying to weed off the government and trying to get stuff for free. I've done it, and its time all african-americans stop being lazy and do something for themselves. Why are whites better off in the country, cause they work hard to get there. By the way, more white people died in every state than blacks. Why should we get special treatment.
I support this petition. Also, I wrote a song about Malcolm X, and I offer it up to this organization. Listen to it on www.jamiegreenmusic.com, or on myspace.com/jamiegreen

Neglect and bigotry magnified the destructive impact of Hurricane “Katrina”. The lack of response to this situation is a direct assault against the supposed rights of the poor, the elderly, of working class people, of Disabled, and of people of color. The unwillingness of those holding positions of power, to assist people in need is revolting and should not be ignored.
I support this petition. I WAS ON THA ROOF FOR THA HURRICANE AND I KNOW THE WATER WAS THERE BEFORE THA RAIN!!!! WHAT TYPE OF LAWSUIT CAN I FILE!!!! HELP ME LONELY IN HOUSTON!!!
1 positive outcome to this injustice, is that it has brought to public light the absolute bankruptcy, unwillingness & inability of those in positions of power, to help a people in need.
The responsibity of this negligent administration is an affront to human dignity and an obvious attack to the civil rights of poor, working class people and people of color. We can no longer allow any parties of our communities to be fooled into trusting these powers that be. We must demand control of our own governments back now!!
Immediate Demands:
1. That the martial law applied to New Orleans and various regions of the Gulf Coast be lifted immediately. Then, when the bands of violent, gun-store-looting gangstas come looking for us and our food and water, we'll complain that the government ignored us because we're black.
2. That the curfews in New Orleans, Biloxi and other cities and regions in the Gulf Coast be suspended immediately. And when complete chaos ensues when thousands of people are moving back into areas with no power, water, or basic services of any kind, we'll complain that George Bush doesn't care about black people.
3. The immediate removal of all foreign and domestic mercenary and white vigilante forces currently terrorizing Black and other oppressed communities in the Gulf Coast states, including Texas so that we can be exclusively victimized and terrorized by domestic ghetto thugs who don't give a **** about the New Afrika and just want to steal our **** and **** our daughters.
4. The suspension of all of the relief and reconstruction contracts unfairly awarded to the cronies of the Bush government like Halliburton and its various subsidiaries, even though those contracts were awarded months before the hurricane and went through a competitive bidding process. Instead, we should hire Tyrone Washington's "Pimp My Hurricane" services. He must be honest, he's Afrikan!
5. Immunity for all survivors charged and/or convicted for crimes of theft, property destruction, and assault, because if you've been through a hurricane then there's no reason you shouldn't be given carte blanche to loot a gun store and butt**** a 13-year-old while burning her house down.
6. Full disclosure on the whereabouts and status of all of survivors including incarcerated persons, immigrants, relocated persons and the deceased, and we don't want to hear any of those whiny arguments
