I support this petition. and yes, the english translators just made a mistake by pronouncing it KiLaLa, but it has now become the accepted as the english way to pronounce it:)
The Japanese is KIRARA but 'tis pronounced KILALA, especially in the english version. My kitty is named KIRARA. She can be a cute little kitty, or a demon cat XD
... It's amazing to see how many people don't know what they're talking about.
It's Kirara. It's spelled Kirara, and it's pronounced Kirara. There is no L in Japanese. The R, instead, makes the sound of both an L and an R. Hard to explain... you'd have to hear it to fully understand it.
It is not, nor should ever be spelled or pronounced Kilala. Like my name, which is Hari and not Hali.
So, bottom line for those who don't want to read all that:
Spelling: Kirara
Pronounciation: Kirara
yeah in the anime it is just spelled kirara trust me i thought the same as you until i read an article on wikipedia about her but that is a mistake alot of people make
It depends on the language translation. English orJapanese. My cat is Kilala Songo's cat is called either one in Mangaand one in Anime.Offical info go here => www #viz.com/inuyasha/characte rs #php
i'm sure it's kirara but i never took time to think about it it gets scary when it grows oh yeah rachel arbogast you and another 30 million people and THIS PETITION ISN"T ABOUT INUYASHA IT'S ABOUT THE CUTE CAT THING
It is spelled kirara but pronounced kilala watch InuYasha in subtitles to learn that so good day to you all and is this realy a petition, I mean you never said what it was stoping or changing some ppl.
Hay dumb ass how thinks there Seshomaru's and Inuyasha's... mate... I just put down there that I acsidentily spelled it Songo when I made the petition, and I can't change it now! Dumb ass...
japanese people dont have "L" sounds so they had too make it kirara, but here in america there is the "L", so it sould be spelled and pronounced kilala but knowing america they had to make every thing hard and they didn't want to change the japenese version to much from the american verson so they kept it as kirara.
so it is spelled kirara but pronounced kilala
Sesshomaru's Mate: OK PEOPLE IF YOU GOT A MANGA OR A VIDEO GAME IT SAYS ITS SPELLED KIRARA AND SANGO IS NOT SPELLED SONGO!!!! *.*'
Inuyasha's Mate: I agree with jamie_aka_sango and I also agree with my sis - Sesshomaru's Mate!!!
YOU IDIOTS CANT SPELL!!!!!
It is pronounced Kilala in the U.S. and Kirara in Japanese. So its basicly both. Like Fashia said there is no "L" sound in Japanese. (I know my Japanese so don't even think about correcting me)
It is pronounced Kilala in both English and in Japanese, but because of the translation difference of the 2 cultures, Americans would not get why it is spelt Kirara and not the way it sounds. It has happened in plenty of Animes when a name is displayed and hasn't been Americanized. Such as Kuririn (krillen to us) in Dragonball Z when the androids arrive and Akida in the movie Akira. It’s normal at this point and nothing new.
Okay, My friend has the manga, he says it's spelled Kirara, they say Kirara in the Japanese version of the anime also. And like Fasiha said, in Japanese there is no sound for "L" I don't remember the reason for changing it from Kirara to Kilala for the american version ^.^;, but it's is really like that. If you don't beleive me, go read the manga for yourself...
It's Kirara in the manga, and Kilala on the show. That means that it's originally Kirara, when they fashioned it for America they changed it to Kilala for some reason. They did they same thing on Dragon Ball Z; Kuririn in the manga, Krillin in the US anime. I think Rumiko Takahashi should've named her Kilala in the first place because it's a much cuter name! ;)
