0Klonopin almost killed me. I was put on it as a treatment for anxiety for eight years, before my former Therapist suggested I go off of it. My former Doctor decided to complete this process in one month and then went on vacation. Almost immediately I went into withdrawal and felt like I was crawling out of my skin. No one could be reached. I entered the Emergency Room twice and was not treated. I tried to take Excedrin PM to help me sleep and to get rid of this horrible feeling. I tried the Emergency Room one more time. As a result I had to DETOX from this FDA approved medication. During this frightening process I kept saying "I'm going to die!" The Doctor, who I had heard was not out of town for all of his vacation time, quipped "You weren't going to die. You might have had a small seizure or something..." I fired him. And the Therapist.
I wrote a scathing letter which is on the Healthcare Blog, if you type in " Kristina Zallinger "and click on it. Copies of that letter were sent to the FDA, local newspapers, my former Doctor's superiors, my former Doctor and Therapist, amongst others. Nothing came of it. My feeling is that these people think you're just a nut with a mental illness.
Because of the "Blog", I have goten many responses from "victims" of the same Benzo. I also receive phone calls regarding many horror stories with Klonopin. They ask me what to do. I'm not a Doctor although I think that I am sometimes better than one.
Please send me your Klonopin stories and sign my petition if you so desire.
