I support this Petition. Stop the LHC it could make a black hole or something. Just trying to figure out how the universe was created is not worth it to risk the entire universe.

Although I agree with the necessity of having such a petition, I can't support it. If you want people to support your petition you must spell the words correctly and you must find powerful arguments. Such an argument could be the following fact: even if the scientists who participated in this project are the most entitled to assure us about its safety, the LHC and the experiments are not at all exempt from failure. The proof lays in several problems of LHC: cooling failure, magnet explosion, etc. In general, there are a lot of cases in history when experiments went wrong, even if they were conducted by the most brilliant minds. All the scientists admit there's a worst case scenario which can actually happen at LHC, although the probability is low. The problem is, if this worst case scenario happens it has disastrous consequences for the whole planet. In this case, is the experiment really necessary NOW? Or could we wait until more knowledge can confirm 100% safety?

I dont support this petition. I support the advancement of scientific endeavour to improve the quality of life for all humans. I also don't support people who can't spell but feel they have the authority to speculate upon a subject of which they have absolutely no comprehension. You are a fool, LONG LIVE THE LHC!!!!!!

To the creator of this utterly ridiculous petition and anyone who seriously supports it - You and others like you are the people who slow down humanities search for knowledge and understanding of the things around us. If you cared to educate yourselves at just what CERN and the LHC does; you will discover that there is no danger that it will bring the Earth to a untimely cataclysmic end. A 1000 years ago people like you thought the earth was flat and the sun set into the sea. Come on people grow up. I have a hunch that well over 90% of you probably worship some fictitious Bronze-Age sky deity. To suggest that the 10,000 Scientists that have worked on this project are “foolish” beggars belief, unless of course all those who have signed and supported this ridiculous petition are eminent Professors in Particle Physics and have a knowledge of Quantum Mechanics. I do seriously doubt that though
