This Law has prohibited me from re-enlisting into our United States
Military. I was Arrested in 1993 for a D.V.,My spouse did'nt even want
to press charges because all i did was grab her by the shoulders. I have no
other convictions or charges on my record since this incident,This law has
ruined my chances to serve my country again. |

I was involved in a domestic violence incident that never involved guns.
It was a misdemeanor. I stood up for my rights and I lost in court. I then
lost my job as a policeman and prison guard. Fair? I want my second
admendment rights back. |

This law is unconstitutional. I feel that all of those who voted to pass
this ex-post facto into law should be brought up on charges of treason.
Those that voted for this to pass violated many articles of the U.S
Constitution especially the oath they took when they took office, that says
they will uphold the Constitution of the U.S This law must be repealed
immediately and Lautneberg himself should be brought up on charges as well
as being tossed out of the office since he has failed to support and
protect those he works for namely the public. |

because it attempts to right an egregious wrong(the Lautenberg Act) which
is nothing more than a transparent attempt to confiscate the legally owned
firearms of law abiding citizens under the guise of doing the greatest good
for the greatest number. Lautenberg is a farce and the founding fathers
would literally be spinning in their graves could they see what current
legislators have done to the greatest document ever created.

It is now mandatory under this law that citizens who commit even the most
minor of infractions are arrested. This truly is a farce and is really just
an attempt at confiscation of guns. Does anyone want this place to be like
England? They still have problems even after they confiscated all personal
weapons but one shot gun and that is only in rural areas! Train and bus
bombings anyone? Those bombings killed many more than a single gun could
have...you can't fight a mentality or idea with a law like this. |

Eric R. Clark :
Eric R. Clark.I do not believe that it should be fair for a person that is
in the military to have to adhere to this circumstance and however a person
that is convicted of felony manslaughter can still get in with a waiver and
be able to stay and retire in the military but a person with a class A or B
misdemeanor of even Deferred Adjudication cannot stay in the military. IT
MUST HAVE AN AMENDMENT TO KEEP OUR BOYS AND GIRLS IN UNIFORM, IN UNIFORM.
I feel that it is a radical approach and it has cost the military over 3
million potential re-enlistees as well as enlistees that are willing to
fight and die for their country and our beliefs. |

Even our ATF thinks this law is causing more problems then good. I
haven't even gotten a parking ticket in 15 years and I'm still
with my wife and very happy together. Just a shame I can't teach my
children hunting or sport shooting because of this crazy law. Next they
will start taking your driving rights for speeding and it will retro back
also, then Americans would WAKE UP! The government needs to spend more
time looking into what it passes and review the effects down the road.
SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE SOON! How much longer do we have to wait? |

Unless a gun was used in a case of domestic violence, it should have no
bearing upon one's right to own or possess a gun, knife or baseball
bat for that matter. How about cutting off a hand instead? A bit exteme
but so is pulling someones "liberty teeth" and depriving one of
his/her 2nd amendment right to defend themselves and/or their country-
