MCR are not punk, emo, or pop/punk whatever. Emo died way back in the late nineties when bands like Sunny Day Real Estate broke up. MCR never said they were punk, but people classify them as pop/punk. They are just a pop-ish rock band, and if you give them a listen with absolutely no bias, a lot of their songs are nice like Thank You for the Venom and House of Wolves and Dead!. Their image and their fans are kinda gay (since most of them are scene kids *sigh*) but their music is good if you give it a chance.
