We, the undersigned ask the Miami Dade School Board to:

- reject changes to board rules and procedures that curtail Board Members’ rights to place items on the monthly Board Meetings agenda. Board Members represent their constituents and if they are restrained from bring up items to the agenda they are not effectively representing their constituents.

-reject changes to board rules and procedures that curtail the rights of the public to be heard on agenda items and the public opinion portion of the monthly Board Meetings, and that these portions be televised during the regular course of the meetings. We ask the board to reject contrived airing of “good news� items at time certain so there is a maximum exposure, which attempts to hide from the public any unflattering information about the School Boards’ business.

-reject the censorship of board members and of the public. We ask the board to reject the precipitous proposed changes to Board Rule that silence minority positions on the Board and we ask that the Board cease further stealth attempts at hiding information from the public.
