I fully support re-opening of commuter rail services to Meath, and believe that living in Meath and working in Dublin will be made much easier by the reintroduction of rail services.

I believe that Phase 1 of the plan to Dunboyne (due to be completed by 2009) isn't a real rail solution for Meath as 9/10 of the line will be in Dublin.

The entire Navan railway line must be reopened as soon as possible, not in 10 years time.

It originally took less that 3 years to clear & build the 26 mile Navan line by hand, with picks and shovels. Work commenced in Oct 1859 and was completed in Aug 1862 - with modern technology using old route, surely the line can be reopened much earlier than 2015?

In the meantime, please open the existing Navan to Dublin freight line (via Drogheda) to commuter trains as a 65mins journey is far better than the 2hr commutes currently facing Meath Commuters.

I believe that the Meath on track proposals must be met immediately, and without prevarication to protect our economy and quality of life.

I commute every day from Trim and would definitely use the train if it was available. I currently use the bus.

We need this rail service. Get moving on it and get it delivered. We are sick of the waiting and the empty promises.

10 Years is too long to wait on a railtrack. People need to be able to work and have personal lives. Not have their business lives rule their social life. Family and friends(life) are more important than spending up to 3 hours sitting in traffic.

its absolutely crazy that there could be a ten year wait... modern technology would speed up the process considerably, of course, this IS Ireland, things like transport come way down the list after TD's wage increases. There's no excuse for this backward 1970's disregard for the rail infrastructure!!! Mr Cullen, Get on track!!!

I support this petition because long commutes by car damage the society of our towns and are detrimental to family life. Public transport makes for more a more civilised country.

Ireland is a developed country the government FF and the PD's talk about the Celtic Tiger and how everyone is better of. Incorrect the people of Meath spend on average two hours communting to Dublin where is their quality of life and when can they get time for their family

Building a road solves one big problem but adds more vehicles to all the other roads, creating other little problems. Public transport needs much more investment and this one has the expensive stuff (land acquisition, cuttings, embankments etc.) already there! Do it now!

I spend too long in the car, too much on petrol, too much on road tax. The rail link from kells would mean no longer needing a second car for my family. Less congestion on our roads, less fumes and less road fatalities right now if we had a decent rail service. I would certainly use it instead of my car!

The time for talking is gone this work needs to start now. Ireland is a first world economy with a third world infastructure. People's daily lives are being made so much harder by the very people (goverment) they pay handsomely to increase their quality of life
