ESPN does NOT provide adequate coverage. It is mediocre at best. Anyone who truly loves the NBA and basketball in general needs more than 1 game a week. NBA TV would have a huge subscription here.
It's about time that Australia received quality transmission of NBA games. The ESPN version on Foxtel is absolute C**p when watching on decent TV panel.
This will give the true basketball fans a much better reason to purchase paytv, rather than just hoping espn will show a couple games a week. Guaranteed NBA, 24/7? priceless! bring it over, dont wait or hesitate. promote it through every stadium, handle mag, and every newspaper, it'll catch on.
The current programing of NBA on ESPN is dissapointing to say the least, for a country that has a #1 pick and more players coming over there soon, we deserve better.

Ive read in various places that there are talks of NBA TV, an exclusive NBA channel being set up for Foxtel before the start of the next NBA season. I was wondering whether this is true? and whether it is likely that it will happen? I think there is a massive untapped market for basketball in the country and a newly aroused interest in the NBA that foxtel should really capitalise on. The reason I have Foxtel is primarily for the basketball, both NBL and NBA, and I know this fact to be true for many other subscribers, If NBA TV channel were an option for us I could see alot of people subscribing to that channel even if it costs extra.
The Coordinator of International Programming NBA Entertainment Danijela Draganic has been sourcing interest from Australians both via her email and petition on whether an NBA TV channel down here is viable and the response thus far has been impressive. I truly hope Foxtel consider this, as you guys have a footy channel and lets face it, you dont really MISS OUT on football on Fox Sports 1, 2, FTA and Sports Tonight, laughs.
Also I'd like to also ask that the Australian Boomers Games in the upcoming FIBA World Championships of Basketball be shown on FOXTEL, this is the biggest event in Basketball and alot of Aussies are psyched to see it, please help us out! Its the biggest, most important event in the Basketball calendar... if you guys dont televise it yet show something stupid like NCAA Volleyball (as was shown instead of the most important game of recent playoffs) I would seriously consider terminating my subscription.

We need this, the coverage in Australia is nothing short of disgraceful.
Having lived OS and seen the brilliant coverage that even countries like Japan (where bball isnt popular) get shows how bad we really have it.
Currently Australia has no free to air coverage of basketball and it is killing us. The more basketball we can get the better. As a player im starved of basketball on TV. Please HEEEEELLLP
because i am sick to death of the way Australians are treated. Case in point game 7 of the Cavs/Pistons series...instead of showing that they show fricken NCAA volleyball. Coverage in Australia is a disgrace. I thought with the into of "subsciption tv" in Australia we would have great coverage...Disgrace
Not having Spurs v. Mavs Game 7 in OT on TV was a bloody outrage.
The only reason Foxtel was introduced was so that we could see NBA, NFL, NCAAF and NCAA hoops on ESPN... Don't even get me started on ESPN International v. ESPN and ESPN2. Its a no-brainer...
I support this petition because I am going insane with the lack of NBA coverage that ESPN gives us throughout the regular season and the playoffs. One of my main reasons for signing up with Foxtel was the hope and excitement of seeing many NBA games and so far I have been very disappointed with whats been shown. Although you may have done me a favour by not showing a SINGLE Celtics game during the season and therefore saving my TV as i didnt have to watch the ineptness of Mark Blount I strongly believe that the future is looking up now that he has been traded. So please bring the brilliance of NBA TV to downunder so I can see my beloved boston celtics reclaim their mantle as an elite NBA team and laugh with glee as we destroy New York, the Lakers and Toronto!
because NBA fans shouldn't be deprived of watching any NBA game they like because they are showing ice skating or rodeo on tv instead. We don't even get the double header on ESPN on Saturday's. One of the biggest sports in the world, and we only get one game or two games a week, what a disgrace. Oh, and we all aren't Spurs, Bucks or Cavs fans, so show everyone!!!!!
We need more NBA games shown on TV in Australia. I have foxtel and am annoyed that we get only 1-2 games a week. We didn't even get either of the two western conference semi finals games 7, that really is atrocious.
With the interest in the NBA in Australia blooming since Bogut went number one, then the NBA should be looking at increasing exposure in Australia
I support this petition, Australians need more NBA, more basketball in general on TV.... why oh why is there a footy channel? you can see every game on FTA! but theres no NBA on FTA, yet you barely see it on foxtel (and in the end its the only reason i have it). there should atleast be an option to subscribe to NBA tv down here
Shameful & Woeful is the coverage of NBA on Foxtel. Two games a week, what a joke. The best basketball league on the planet and we can't watch it!!!! Shame shame shame
We need more NBA coverage on Foxtel we see too much drag racing & other motorsport. We didn't even get to see LeBron V Pistons in Game &....what a disgrace!!!
because we've had one of the best, if not the best 1st & 2nd Playoff rounds in NBA history... with poor coverage! Enough is enough... do I have to move to a 3rd world country to have access to NBA TV?!
I deffinatly support this decision, i dont have pay t.v at the moment but if they had nbatv I would subscribe up straight away, and I would say a lot of australian would. I used to watch nba action on sat mornings religiously back in the day, it has been too long!!!! bring back the nba for the supporters of Australia, it is a world game,so let the world see it!!

If we can get 5-7 MBL games why can't we have more NBA considering there is far more interest in NBA than baseball.
Also I have had a gutful of only seeing the Heat, Cavs, Lakers and Spurs play.

Not since the mid 90's has Australia had any decent basketball coverage. We only see two games a week and they mostly feature the Pistons, Heat or Lakers. There is renewed interest in the game with Bogey and Schenscher in the league. The NBA should capatalise on this. I would subscribe to the channel.
