You know what? In China when Yao Ming drafted first by Houston Rockets, everybody in China got excited and NBA TV became very popular there. Compare to when Andrew Bogut drafted first by Bucks, where is NBA TV in Australia? You tell me.
because I remember the good old days of Channel 10 showing NBA Action and a Game of the Week EVERY WEEK! What now?? Nothing since about 7-8 years ago i think!
I'm a huge fan. I even pay attention to the drafts, prospects, the rumours, everything, and i don't even get to watch the games live and regulary. Help!
Because it will result in the rapid development of basketball in Australia. Look at the great talent pool coming out from NBL and US Colleges. Australia should easily become a basketball power.
Having one Conference final game every two days is a disgrace, while pathetic sports like rodeo, gymnastics and other pointless sports fill up the rest of ESPN-I in Australia. I can understand UEFA and other football games being shown but there could definitely be more NBA games on but for some reason they fill the channel up with rubbish.
I'm American. But i talk to many aussies on the internet through forums and chats. And i swear that sometimes it feels like there are more aussies than american fans. They deserve it.
I love the NBA. I've only ever played the games and read the scores and articles on the internet. NBA on my TV at home would be basically a dream come true.
Espn's coverage is quite poor. I don't mind that is it once a week, but they only show either the Lakers, San Antino or the Pistons. Their are own teams that play too!
We need as many votes as possible to highlight to the big wigs that fans of basketball are getting fed up with the free-to-air coverage of any basketball, and world basketball in general.
basketball in Australia needs to have access to the best leauge in the world to find insperation for young people. The more Jnr's playing ball the better Australia will do in the coming years
because for too long the Australian public have been ignored by the powers that be and ESPN does not show enough NBA games. NBA TV will fix that and allow every basketball fan access to "the greatest show on earth". There is a huge fanbase for NBA and NBL basketball if only it were brought to the masses. This is the first step for the NBA.
There is no reason for extensive NBA to be excluded from PAYTV Aust since the advent of didgital broadcasting. The NBA almost warrants a single channel incorporating all NBA programs broadcast on ESPN in the states
The only way that Australia can become a basketball force is by educating the youth via a tv medium. Without this access, basketball will not thrive. It's an exciting and tactical game to watch and would definitely please the sporting novice.
Basketball is one of the most participated sports in Australia and the world, and yet there i so little TV coverage. Please give the Australian public what they desperately want!
because there are so many aussies that live and breathe basketball and the only way to keep up with times is over the internet! Its time for the channel to come to australia cause now we have Andrew Bogut and most probably Brad Newley over there playing! PLEASE !!
Nba coverage is minimal in Australia. ESPN Int'l will show the same game twice in the same day. Why not show a different game? The playoffs are poorly covered. All year we get mostly west coast games and during the playoffs we are getting a diet of east coast play.
because basketball is one of the most widely played sports in the world and in fact in australia. It is also extreamly interesting and exciting to people that do not follow the sport.
