The Liberal Government of Ontario is planning to do the following to the taxpayer's of Ontario as of July 2010:

1. Make a $500,000.00 house $40,000.00 dollars more expensive for you to buy. It will likely end up rolled back into your mortgage so you can now be in debt even longer.

2. Tons of things will end up being taxed at 13% instead of 5% GST only such as legal fees etc. and innumerable other goods and services.

Bottom line is this government is trying to reach into your wallets in an unprecedented way here. Look at what is happening in the US. Their housing market was the catalyst for a major catastrophe. Canada's housing market has been one of the bright spots in this tough economy. It is almost like Dalton is going out of his way to try and damage the economy with this thing.

Fundamentally though, we all pay enough taxes and this has to stop. Dalton should try managing the funds he already has before he comes looking for more money he can throw away like his people have done with E-Health. We spent something akin to a billion dollars on to get Ontario's health records computerized and nothing significant has happened other than wasted taxpayer money.

Enough is enough. Sign this petition and send Dalton a message. Tell him that he can find another job other than in politics if he follows through with this HST.
