The major issue with Dr. D’Andrea is that she has too much power, and she abuses her authority. Any time a faculty or staff member speaks out against her practices, they are threatened with a demoted position as well as relocation. From listening to the complaints of many faculty and staff members of the Pickens County School District many individuals are unhappy with the current regime, but are unable to voice their opinions, because of Dr. D’Andrea’s threats. The students’ best interests are clearly not even a concern. By uniforming all curriculum, teaching style, and facilities, students’ individual needs are not taken into consideration.
If the school board does not put a stop to this communist regime, then they will find themselves voted out of the board this upcoming election. As a concerned community member, I am very unhappy with these new implementations. Teachers need to be able to voice their opinions for the sake of their individual students without fear of punishment. I urge the board and community members to take action against Dr. D’Andrea.
