Stop taxing the working class. This tax increase is outrageous. Do you actually want me to start buying beer from Colorado, or Wisconsin? (I mean the legislators, not the backers of this bill)

Taxing a variable out of existence is no way to increase revenue. Taxation at such a high rate is also a good way to drive a well known industry into collapse.

These politicians have no idea what they are about to do. They merely recognize that we have low beer taxes and that the state needs more revenue, so instead of investigating the impact (both economically and culturally) they give in to their knee-jerk reaction to raise taxes. No way.

I support this petition. Passing this tax would be a huge loss to our economy. The beer industry is one of the only industries that have been striving in Oregon. Why would we kill the one industry that is thriving?

I support this petition. Not only will it cost jobs, but it will run Oregon's microbrewing industry into the ground. I can only hope the "representatives" who support this bill do not get reelected. Why should we vote for someone who will vote to restrict our civil liberties?

I support this petition. In this economic climate, all individuals and businesses are cutting back spending. The government should do the same. Trim the budget instead of raising taxes. Raising taxes only makes the economic situation worse.

I support this petition. This tax would destroy the Oregon beer industry and create less jobs, not something the state can handle in these hard times. A more reasonable tax across all types of alcohol makes the most sense.
