if there never is a port chances are I'll still get it for ps2 but I would really prefer a gc version...I bought sc 2 for the gc after all. And to namco..ahem...WTF! Idiots!The gc + xbox sales of sc2 were greater than all of the sales on the ps2. Pretty much double the money earned by just spending a bit on a port...
Not everybody owns a PS2. I don't know how much Sony bribed you to make Soul Calibur III a PS2 exclusive, but I guarantee you'll lose more than you gained if you leave things how they are. Make Soul Calibur III for all of the main home consoles, or you'll lose much needed sales in the future.
I cant believe namco would sink so low, i mean the least they could have done as put it on GC too, but PS2 exclusive is dumb and im not buying a game till this is changed.
I think that it would hurt them to release it only on the PS2. I don't know how well it did on the XBOX, but I know the Gamecube version sold well. The game would surely be a winner if they used a similar marketing tactic like they did with SCII
Namco, you will make less money if you do it ps2 exclusive! There are a lot of gamecube and xbox owners that like the soul calibur games and less people would buy it if you made it ps2 exclusive.
I think its proposterous that you will not release SCIII on all three systems, especially since PS2 didn't even pull the most sales on SCII, gamecube did. Tekken 5 is already PS2 exclusive, for the love of god, don't give PS2 a monopoly on fighters. I don't want to have to buy that shitty system just to play SCIII.
If you make SCII for all three consoles, SCIII has to be on on all three as well, otherwise it is unfair to the fans of the series with the other consoles. I have had every "soul" game since Soul Edge, even 2 SCII's (xbox and gamecube). Soul Calibur is one of my favourite franchises and I don't want to have to buy a ps2 just to play this game. Nice way to treat a long time fan Namco. Make it on all 3 consoles, you owe it to the fans.
Man, What are you guys thinking? You really disappointed me. This is one way to make your fans angry, taking away a great game. Know that I won't buy a copy now (and the required PS2). Even if you don't miss out on a lot of money, it's just wrong, just abondon your fans (the ones that are the source of your income). The only way you can make up for this, if you still release a GC-version (and a Xbox version too).
Look Namco, I don't know what the hell is going on but if you guys have nothing planned for Xbox or GC, such as alternate a SC3 version or at least a graphically superior SC2, then you can kiss the money I spend on your games good-bye. All I know is there better be something SC related coming out for EVERY next gen. console and if not, everyone can safely say Namco is run by a bunch of, well you know what. Have a nice day Namco.

I've been a loyal fan since Soul Blade. Please don't make the mistake of making SC3 a ps2 exclusive. I bought SC2 for Xbox because of the better graphics and sound. Please port it over to the other systems or at least give your fans some kind of explanation. Till then you've lost a customer.

Namco this is not a threat by no means, but i'm not planning on buying a PS2 version(although i own all three consoles) since the Gamecube version rocked my world. However, i would like to add a comment on making not only three home console versions, but also a PSP version if possible.

SC is my favorite fighter, right next to Street Fighter II, and it deserves to be on multiple platforms. I played all 3 versions of SC2 and the PS2 version was my least fave. The GC version was the best in my opinion.
Not everybody can afford multiple systems. SC2 allowed gamers, regardless of system preference, to enjoy SC2. So why the decision to make SC3 PS2 exclusive? PS2's version of SC2 wasn't even the best seller. I feel this system bias is bad move and will reflect negatively on your company. The cross platform release was what made SC2 so successful. Don't ruin a good thing.
Joe brings up a good point. Why not put this game on Xbox360? And have online play? So many of you're fans would love this Namco. Please thing it over.
I don't know why you would only release SC3 on PS2. Plain logic seems to point against it. But who knows, maybe you're just releasing it on PS2 first because you need more time to make Link (and Ganondorf, maybe?)for GC and better graphic and sound quality for Xbox. Hopefully, this is the case. If not... please change your mind! I own only a Gamecube and I most definitely will not purchase a PS2 for one game!
I thought the whole exclusive character thing for SC2 was one of the best things that ever happened to gaming. It made EVERYONE happy. EVERYONE should get a chance to enjoy SC3. Do the right thing?
I'm with everyone here. I want an Xbox version. Or an Xbox 2/NextBox/Xbox Next/Xenon/Xbox 360 version. Either one will do the trick for me. Oh, and they better have Live multiplayer. :)

The Cube and Box versions outsold the PS2 Version of Soul Calibur 2
and What about Tekken time to get it off the Playstation and on to better hardware
I am a fan Namco, but you leave me no choice in this PS2 exclusivity is boneheaded even considering how much Sony would have to pay for the rights. My money can go elsewhere in these regards.
