Very few people are aware of where the pups at various pet stores come from. Or how the dogs are bred and raised when they call a newspaper or on-line ad. They don't know that millions of puppies, cats, birds are bred for greed.

The so-called breeders don't have any clue of genetic diseases of certain breeds. They breed, and then breed again, and then again, and again... So, the genetic diseases multiply monthly, weekly, daily...
This leads to hundreds... thousands of dollars in medical bills for the puppy or a kitten. The pet store will not reimburse the expenses, nor will it take the animal back. This also leads to your heart being broken if your sweet little creature dies or suffers for the rest of its life.

Please, sign this petition so that the American Kennel Club makes genetic health tests obligatory for any dam or sire to be bred and their offsprings to be eligible for official papers. ALL reputable breeders conduct these tests but you won't see THEIR dogs at pet stores. Help us make it a law.

All pet stores tell you nice tales about the puppy being bought from a reputable breeder. They tell you lies about the puppy's pedigree. Chances are - you'll never get it. And if you get it, what good will it make if your pet has bad diseases.

If there is an AKC rule: no health tests - no breeding - no puppies, then there'll be less demand on pups with no papers. And low demand creates low supply.
