Please be our voice for humanity's sake. My animals are members of my family and I can't imagine the horrors of what these poor creatures go through in breeding mills across our country. Be their voice Oprah.
Oprah, For the most part, when I read these posts about "puppy mills" all I can really do is cast a big SIGH of sadness. This has been an on-going problem for decades. Many people like myself and the folks that are signing this petition, do not have the resources to get this information out there. No matter how much I have tired to educate people about the cold realities of "puppy mills" the reaction is always the same. They just do not get it at all. They are blind to the things that are practiced in "manufacturing" these helpless puppies. Oprah, I know you adore your Cocker, as we all adore our pets, but the truth is, education about puppy mills is all but non-existant. I am a pet professional and deal with pets all day long. I have seen graphic video of what goes on in these puppy mills, I have seen the eyes of the "*****es" in their cages, never seeing the sunshine or being able to answer their calls to nature outdoors, living in a crate their entire lives. They are being bred every single heat, with little or no veterinary care. The puppy death rate is very high as well. Please help us to educate your audiences about this terrible abuse and profiting of dogs. Our voice is the only voice they have, please hear us and help us. Puppy mills have NO business breeding dogs into a world where the dog population is already too crowded, thoudands of homeless dogs are put to sleep in this country daily and these puppy mills continue to produce more and are only concerned about their profits. Help us, help us, help us!
Puppy mills=sick dogs, behavior problems in dogs, etc. I have a Pom that was born WITHOUT any EYEBALLS. He was turned into out local shelter because he would not mount a female dog in heat! Imagin wanting to breed a dog that was BORN without any eyeballs! People will do anything for money. Puppy mills have not been in the news for quite sometime and I feel they need to be constantly in front of the public eye, so people will stop buying animals from pet stores who support these puppy mills. I am sure the Oprah Show would touch the lives of many people who would buy these pets.
Oprah, please do a show on puppy mills and the countless millions of dogs dying each year in overcrowded shelters. 8000 pets a month are euthanized in the Houston, Texas area alone.
Something needs to be done to stop the indiscriminate breeding and selling of dogs for nothing but profit with no consideration of the effect on the poor animals themselves. Please help stop the abusive breeding practices. There are many responsible breeders out there who genuinely care for all the puppies they produce and will take them back if for some reason people no longer want them. The unethical, uncaring money-grubbers need to be stopped. Please help educate people so they won't be duped and so they will be able to make a conscious choice to get their next pet from a responsible breeder. If everyone did this and put the irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy mills out of business, there would no longer be a need for animal shelters and the killing of so many innocent animals every day.
Oprah,
Please expose puppy mlls to help end the current suffering and prevent future suffering of the dogs who lead wretched lives in puppy mills as puppy production machines.
Thank you.
When Oprah talks, people listen. Talk woman like you've never talked before! A reputable breeder is one thing, but a mill is a totally different life. I help rescue Cairn Terriers the toto dogs,(www.cairnrescueusa. com) maybe just maybe if we had help in shutting mills down we wouldn't have to rescue so many. I'll be happy to come on your show Oprah to discuss our rescue if you'd like. I'll do whatever I can to help save a dog's life. AGAIN, people listen to you, won't you please help us?
Please help these animals-you have the opportunity to expose this industry for what it is-do the research and you will discover the horrors taking place and if you don't agree, then you have the option not to expose them, but I am sure you will decide to do just that
I have been involved with a local humane society for several years. Animal overpopulation and mistreatment are huge problems. People who operate these mills are taking advantage of the innocent and only thinking of themselves. Our country can and should do better.
Oprah, Please make the world aware of the hardships that these animals suffer because of human greed. Puppymills should be shut down forever. People listen to you. Please, please help.
These defenseless creatures need a voice -- Oprah's voice -- to raise the consciousness of what we are doing to our society by ignoring these animals. Education and exposure can bring about change.
A friend of mine just rescued over 80 dogs from a puppy mill auction. She is a true advocate for the animals. I will ask her to forward the message and send you her article about her experience.
If people truly understand that by purchasing that "cute" puppy in the pet store for their family that they are sentencing dogs to a life of living in squalor in cages so small they can hardly stand up just to "produce" that cute pup, perhaps they would think twice before buying it...and go to a shelter or rescue to adopt one instead.
We all have to do something... but what we really need is someone with a voice, and someone who people trust and listen to. Oprah is the one... please help with this.
We rescue Great Pyremnees, Collies and anything else that needs our help. You would not beleave the way dogs live in a puppy mill until you see one for yourself. We have and it was just heartbreaking knowing that we are a rescue and could not do a thing about the way the dogs were living. Please help us in our quest to stop this cruel breeding of dogs and cats. We watch your show every day and just love what you do.
I have animals myself and I cannot imagine them being put through something as horrible as that. We have a voice to save these animals who cannot speak for themselves. Let your voice be heard and save an innocent animals life.
I sent you a portrait of you and your dogs hoping you would look into the puppy mill problem. If any one can make people stop and realize the horrors its you!! You speak and people listen...you can save so many ...please think about your Sophie being in a place like that!!!!
Please do a show on the atrocities of the puppy mills. These innocent animals are brought into this world through no fault of their own. They offer totally unconditional love and devotion and deserve the same.
G`Day Oprah,Ive seen your show a couple of times and I believe it helps alot of people.I think you have the time to stand back and anylise stuff, then connect with a main stream audience. In my world if there is a problem,we sit down and talk to each other till we get a result.Whether it be a girlfriend or a mate. Now my High School sweetheart (she lives in the US now its only been 16 years)told me about these mills. And of course you back your mate till the end.But you must educate yourself first. As I imagine you will do,and I have???I will not pleade for your help, nor try a Guilt trip on you.Ive got about 800 mates here and one potential mate thats you Oprah.jamie_bullet@yahoo. com.au
Oprah has the power to expose the truth behind these cruel prison life sentences of the animals who are used as puppy making factories, I hope she does
If more people KNEW for a fact, maybe if they could SEE IT FIRSTHAND, perhaps the demand for the puppies that come from this misery would stop. I can't think of a better person to help us expose this atrocity....Oprah, PLEASE HELP US TO HELP THE ANIMALS!!!!
Oprah, PLEASE help! The only way to shut down puppy mills is to EDUCATE the public. If people stop purchasing puppies from Commercial Pet Stores, there will be no *demand* for the puppies produced by the so called "commercial breeders" Stop the demand - there will be no need for a supply. Please help get the word out. Being a volunteer for a rescue group, and having adopted three Puppy Mill rescues of my own, I have experienced first hand the horrific condition of "Mill Dogs" as well as the permanant damage both physical and psycological done to these poor animals.
PLease help the animals Oprah. People need to know what really goes on with puppy mills. Maybe people would not buy from them if they were educated on how they are treated. Thank you
