Imagine being in a cage all your life. No one to hold you, pet you, give you a treat. Ever look into the eyes of a dog that has never been loved? Dogs stacked in cages, used only to breed, are killed if they don't have enough pups or don't conceive. I saw Pixie (shih tzu) when she was first rescued, terrified of my hand. She is now the most loving lap baby you can imagine. Help us save just one helpless pup by doing a show on Mill Breeders.

Oprah, it isn't a plea for you to personally do what you can to stop this activity. It is a plea to help educate those who buy from these puppy mills. Without customers, there would be no unethical practices. Help us educate those who don't understand.
People listen to you Oprah. As a responsible breeder, I would very much like to see the public know about puppy mills. While people are unaware of the revolting conditions, they can't be stopped.
Almost 30,000 dogs and cats were euthanized in Chicago last year. Please use your influence to persuade people to adopt homeless animals and drive puppymills out of business.
I do Westie rescue in the state of Florida. The public needs to be aware of what a puppy mill is and who purchases and gains profit by these poor abused adult dogs who are bred month after month and killed when they no longer can produce puppies to the PET SHOPS. Your attention in this matter would be appreciated Oprah! Thanks.
I am currently fostering a little girl who was a breeding ***** in a puppy mill.
She was so starved that it took her over a month to gain one pound.
She had every parasite imaginable, hair worn off from lying on concrete,
teeth worn from chewing the bars of a cage. She was so weak she could barely stand.
She is a purebred Afghan Hound, sweet and loving. Somewhere is a litter or two or more of puppies suffering the same fate.
Please help expose this to people who do not know about it.
This sounds sickening and I would love for something liek to be exposed only for it to be stopped immediately!!!! our dog is a part of our family!!!! Please do something to stop this harenduos act please!!!!!

I am from the Show Me State (Mo.), home to more puppy mills than any other state in the Union, which by the way are condoned by the State of Mo, for the income they bring to this State. Good luck getting the Dept. of Ag. to cooperate.
Please Help!!! I recently adopted my Great Dane from a rescue. He was abused and neglected for over a year. He was starved and tied to a tree with two other great danes. Please help stop this cruelty.
Oprah, please take on the puppymills and expose them for the hellholes they are.Think of the horror you could save in the lives of so many dogs,ones that never touch grass on their paws or see daylight and feel the sun and wind in their faces.They live with broken bones no vet care and produce litter after litter in cages stacked on top of one another.

Dogs are doing unbelievable work these days: they helped the rescue workers after 9/11 - and the men and women that worked with those dogs said their burden was halved by having the dog with them. Dogs deserve better conditions than they get in this society. Also, we need to address the issue of dogs in our culture. So many African-Americans are afraid of dogs and for good reason (historically). Please shine more spotlight on this dog issue.

Oprah, I too have a terrier rescued from a puppy mill. She had never been outside of a cage until she came to me, had stains up to her "elbows" from living in filth and was half starved. I can't imagine what other horrors she had endured. Please, help us stop this animal abuse!
Oprah, if anyone can bring attention to this issue, you can! The sector of the American public that you have the ability to reach is immense, and the incredible amount of respect that people have for you will force them to pay attention to this horrible, hidden industry!
As respected as you are and as good-hearted as any, think of these animals as children as we lovers animals do. They are living, breathing creatures and we as humans need to speak for them and protect them from a cruel and abusive world that they must live in. Only we can stop this. We need to take a stand and make this a priority. These animals are being used a s baby factories. Living in poor conditions and being neglected, locked in small cages, living in their own feces and barely if at all being fed and watered. Please help us take a stand.

the thought of puppy mills just makes me want to puke! Laughlin Kennel in Oxford, MA there is puppies shoved in so many rooms with disgusting odors and everything...People like this make me sick...we could all use a quick buck but not when your putting animals in danger!!!
Please help to expose the horrors of puppymills. I myself have a puppymill mamma pug that I got from a local pug rescue. She came to us, near death, a tumor the size of a baseball on her side, dirty and sick. She was going to be put to death because she could no longer have pups. We got her, the tumor was removed, but the scars of 5 yrs of life in a cage were still evident. We've had her almost 2 yrs now and she's a totally spoiled pug now. She's happy and healthy and loves to be loved. But there are so many other puppymill dogs that don't ever get that life they deserve. It breaks my heart. You can help us to expose this horror and educate people of the right way to treat man's best friend!

Your attention to this issue would do more than you can possibly imagine for the millions of animals that suffer in ways unimaginable in puppy mills and shelters throughout our country and the world. Please do not turn a blind eye to this issue - dogs in puppy mills are "debarked" with metal pipes which smash their teeth as well as their vocal cords, live their entire lives in tiny cages, never knowing the touch of a kind hand, never having a soft place to lie down, bred til their bodies fall apart, left without veterinary care to die or sold at auction to the highest bidder when they can no longer produce a profitable "crop" for the monsters who do this.

There is no reason in this day and age to allow puppy mills to continue. Dog lovers need to be educated about the negative effects of these disgusting mills.
I am a Humane Officer and I have seen the effects of over breeding these poor animals for money. I have a puppy mill here in my area, that we can't get shut down, the more people that knows about these problems the better. Here are a few things that I know have been going on at this pup mill. The dogs are kept in very small cages were the wire they stand, is so big their legs constally fall threw it. The pups and older dogs that die are just thrown over the hill and left to rott in the sun. There is over 600 dogs at this one mill alone. It has to stop. We all have to stand together and stop this cruel and inhumane behavier. Please Help these poor animals.

These dogs are exploited until they can no longer produce a pup and then most die a horrible death at the hands of the mill owner or his children.
