I think that the conditions and situations in puppy mills is deplorable. The puppies are often genetically and physically ill. The adults are treated poorly trapped in cages. This kind of irresponsible breeding should be stopped.

I believe that you know this should be exposed to the public, but for some reason you think it may be 'faux pas'or not of benefit to your typical viewers...? Oprah, you would not be able to imagine your beautiful Goldens in a cruel puppy mill situation, or in a cold, lonely shelter because they were too old or not able to produce any more, would you? You have such a great show with so many viewers, and such a great, giving heart. This would impact every person who watches your show. Doing a documentary about puppy mills would raise the viewre's awareness of the countless numbers of dogs who are put to sleep every day because of overpopulation, not to mention encourage pet owners to never step foot in another petstore again. Prospective pet owners would know to never buy from a pet store, a backyard breeder, or a flea market (big here in Texas). Please make a plea for the pets that are suffering in these situations and can't speak for themselves.
We need to take action on this important topic. We need to be the voice for these dogs because they have none. Please help us raise awareness and stop puppymills.
The conditions at puppy mills are deplorable. One should attend an auction and see the miserable conditions these frubabies are in and to make it even sadder, the USDA says everything is okay and proceed with the auction. Dogs with a missing leg is auctioned off and stating, "He's still good for breeding". They do not care about these living creatures and all the dogs want is a home and someone to love them instead of living in a cage their entire life. It is really tragic. Let's education the public. I have held a carin terrier rescued from a puppy mill. He smelled of urine, fur tangled from never being brushed or bathed. He was very thin, lifeless. His eyes were large and distant. He didn't even bother to bark or lick me when I came to him. A puppy mill did this to this dog who was 13 years old and never romped and played or shown love. Puppy mills must be exposed and laws must be passed to prosecute these people.
Oprah,I know that you love dogs and ask that you please help us.I also work with rescue. Too many good ppurebred dogs are dying at the pound. Help us spread the word and save dogs from the animal shelters and abuse.
Yes, Oprah, please do an exposee on puppymills and feature the rescue organizations who end up with these dogs. The only way to shut down puppymills is to educate the public so no one will purchase puppies from a pet store or from the miller and/or his brokers.

Everyday, I look into the eyes of homeless dogs that are going to die in my email, hoping that I can save some. Everynight I replay the look in their eyes wanting someone to love them and give them a home. 5-15 million animals are killed each year across the USofA and no one of your stature has ever addressed it. I cannot even imagine the good you could do, the people you could educate. Please, Please help end the suffering

[Don't read this if you are sensitive or easily upset, it is a heart wrenching story which will almost certainly bring a tear or two]
I don't remember much from the place I was born. It was cramped and dark, and we were never played with by the humans. I remember Mum and her soft fur, but she was often sick, and very thin. She had hardly any milk for me and my brothers and sisters. I remember many of them dying, and I missed them so.
I do remember the day I was taken from Mum. I was so sad and scared, my milk teeth had only just come in, and I really should have been with Mum still, but she was so sick, and the Humans kept saying that they wanted money and were sick of the "mess" that me and my sister made. So we were
crated up and taken to a strange place. Just the two of us. We huddled together and were scared, still no human hands came to pet or love us.
So many sights and sounds, and smells! We are in a store where there are many different animals! Some that squawk! some that meow! Some that Peep! My sister and I are jammed into a small cage, I hear other puppies here. I see humans look at me, I like the 'little humans', the kids. they look so sweet, and fun, like they would play with me!
All day we stay in the small cage, sometimes mean people will hit the glass and frighten us, every once in a while we are taken out to be held or shown to humans. Some are gentle, some hurt us, we always hear "Aw they are So cute! I want one!" but we never get to go with any.
My sister died last night, when the store was dark. I lay my head on her soft fur and felt the life leave her small thin body. I had heard them say she was sick, and that I should be sold at a "discount price" so that I would quickly leave the store. I think my soft whine was the only one that mourned for her as her bo
This is a horrible life for these little animals and this practice should be exposed and stopped - NOW! All life needs to be valued. If dog's are man's best friend, we need to be treating them as such. They have no voice but ours. Please help them!!

I have volunteered for over 10 years at both the local SPCA and county shelter. We see many purebreeds dumped there. Often for behavior problems. Generations and generations of bad breeding really show up as unsound physically and mentally. There should be few few breeders. Few do it well.
Lots of cockers get dumped. They are high maintenance. Your dogs are beautiful but unrealistic for most people to maintain.
Please help all the dogs who weren't fortunate enough to find a well to do person to take care of them.

I was taken by a puppy mill broker. I would not take any amount of money for her. She is my most precious gift, but these people need to be stopped. As much as Oprah loves her dogs, I would think she wouldn't hesitate to do such a show.
Oprah, I am a purebreed rescue coordinator in Arizona for Vizslas. We have a horrible problem with puppy mill breeders selling dogs to " mall" stores so people can forgo the reputable breeder process and buy a dog like they buy groceries - on impulse. So often these impulse dogs end up in rescue. These dogs in puppy mills end up starved, without training and PTS after they can no longer "produce. They never see grass, a dog toy or know the love of a family. Help us put an end to this shameless for profit practice.
I helped rescue a little Chichauhau one time that lived in a crate for 5 years at a puppy mill and all he did was impregnate female chihuahuas. It was so tortuous and abusive for the little man. I can still see his little face in the rescue photo and it broke my heart.
We understand this is an ugly topic, however it is one that incites more passion and compassion than anything i have seen on the human agenda today. Oprah, the growing trend in this country and within law inforcement organizations has been the realization that crimes towards animals breeds crimes toward human beings. Please use your tremendous influence to steer would-be dog owners to adopt from shelters or buy, if they must, from responsible breeders. There should be no market open to puppy mills.
Rescue groups throughout the US face the result of these puppy mills every day! When a puppy becomes an adult they are no longer cute, fuzzy and warm but a responsibility and thus easily discarded. Please help these animals that can't speak for themselves.

Oprah, your show touches millions and has reached me. I hope you will investigate the travesty, injustice, and inhumanity of puppy mills. I recently fostered and rehabilitated a Vizsla that had been bred twice before age 2. I helped her recover after she had lived a life of terror in the Kansas puppy mill where she was breeding stock. Can you imagine, as a person, being forced to breed twice before you were 14? The outrage and outcry would be deafening. Please help bring awareness of this plight to your audience. Millions of your viewers are also pet owners. Let's make this a better world for them!
Your show reaches so many. How wonderful it would be to reach people and let them know about puppies, how they are treated and what happens when they are not wanted or ill.
Ohhh if only this could happen, those poor long suffering animals need HELP, the criminals need to be punished...Pet stores should be forced to quit selling live animals!
