I think this is a very important subject to base a show on, and my hope is that you feel the same way. I know you have adorable cocker spaniels and I know that you also love them very much. Unfortunately, there are some people who only wish to exploit them for monetary gain. I hope you will help them....thanks.

I belong to Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue (YTNR) and have seen such pitiful things; it would amaze you to see how inhumane humans can be to tiny, loving, defenseless dogs. We have rescued tiny young dogs that have been bred literally to death. Most rescued from puppymills are not socialized, housebroken, or comfortable around people. It takes so much love and patience for one of these precious little creatures to become adobtable after what they have been through. They are terrorized just by the sight of a person. The public should be informed about this shameful practice and where the puppies in the petstores really come from.If there were no demand for them, the puppymills would go out of business and the horrendous cruelty would have to stop. Rescue your pet from a shelter or pound!
Please, please please do a show on puppy mills. Nobody should be buying a puppy from one and if people knew just how these dogs are treated... it's likely we could affect real change.
Oprah, please, please, people will listen to you. Please educate the uninformed to save those who cannot speak for themselves. Puppy mill dogs live in horror and cruelty and cannot defend themselves. Thank you, thank you for anything you can do to help.
Come on Oprah! You love dogs and you can make a difference. Both my German Shepherd came from puppymills, Sergei was from a pet store suplied by the notorius Amish on Lancaster, PA. Effie was left on a street corner to fend for herself after someone paid money for her but didn't want to treat her irriatable bowels. I started working in rescue to make a difference, but we need you reach, Oprah.

Oprah, I know you have the power to expose this terrible and cruel practice. So many people buy dogs unknowingly from puppy mills. There was one shut down here in Central Texas just recently that literally had hundreds of dogs-all kinds of breeds-and were so poorly taken care of that when the law shut them down, they had to put some of them to sleep because their health was so poor. This IS cruelty to animals and the public needs to know the difference between a puppy mill and honest registered breeders. I know that you can help to educate them.
Please Please Oprah you are a dog lover. Expose this aweful abuse of loving animals. There are so many of us out here working with Rescues organizations that get these dogs so often. Have some of us on let us bring our dogs that have been rescued. And let the american public know what they can do to stop this!!!!

I bought a puppy for a pet store he was already 4 months old he could not walk and he was not well treated he had been kept in his crate 24 hours a day never let out.I got him because I felt sorry for him .I'm sure he was from a puppy mill.

As I walk through these shelters, I know, that the majority of animals are going to be put to death because of lack of homes for them. PLEASE HELP us educate the public to this never ending, horrible issue. We Need You, no, the dogs and kitties NEED YOUR HELP. I have adopted 4 rescued dogs and 3 rescued cats and as a single mom on a salary less than 18k - I can't do any more. I transport to foster homes when money allows, but we really need someone to help us get the word out, what is going on in these shelters. SO MANY LIVES are lost, because of these puppy mills. Okay, we all know you get asked to alot of things for alot of worthy causes, but this particular cause, trying to stop the suffering, abuse, neglect and frankly, use of helpless animals in puppy mills. These poor helpless creatures, when they have the misfortune of ending up in the puppy mills, spend sometimes their entire lives in hellholes producing litter after litter after litter until they cannot or are horribly mamed, terrified and tormented and finally die without ever experiencing a single loving touch in their lives! NO LIVING CREATURE DESERVES THE FATE OF THESE ANIMALS.
Please, please Oprah, as an animal lover yourself, and fo all of us who cannot possibly reach as many as you could in just one show, consider doing a show on puppy mills. While there are indeed, responsible breeders, there are too many millers whose only goal is to make money off of the miserable, suffering lives of these most innocent animals.
PLEASE OPRAH, SPEAK FOR THE ANIMALS who cannot speak for themselves, not for those of us who are pleaing with you for their sakes (although it would do all of our hearts good to see the wonderful miracle you could provide for these animals!).

If only you could see the BEAUTIFUL, pure bred, and loving souls I am forced to pass over, at Animal Control facilities, only because they were a 'nuisence', too bothersome for busy families, or wanderde off because they were not spayed or neutered and they wandered away from home...with no one to come and claim them. It's just TOO much! Such a waste of wonderful love and companionship. IF ONLY we could slow down the 'PRODUCTION' process enough to be able to save most of them.
Please, help us help them! Expose the suffering these animals go through, when reared in puppymills. It's horrendous!

I've seen first hand the effects that over breeding and poor living conditions have on our truest companions, dogs, and it's heartbreaking. WHat's keeps me going is the knowledge that good people stand up for what's right! (There are many places in Wisconsin that could be featured!)
Oprah, millions of dogs are put to sleep every year because these puppy mills keep on breeding them even though there are not enough homes or responsible people to care for them. They are kept in horrid conditions as long as they can produse then most are killed. Please have your staff do the research on them. There is plenty of material, including pictures of the horrible conditions that these poor dogs live in. Please help these little helpless creatures that cannot help themselves. All for mans greed and inhumanity.
The more exposed these places are the less people will buy from them. I recently bought home a resuce that was born in a puppy mill and the health conditoins this poor thing endures breaks my heart
Please, please do a program complete with photos of the way most breeding dogs and their puppies are kept in puppy mills and how they suffer. Contact the Humane Soc. of the U.S. for help in doing this program.

Please use your tremendous influence to educate people about the horrors of puppymills and the pain and suffering of the "breeder" dogs who are destined to spend thier lives like this. Most people would never buy from a petshop if they only knew where thier precious little puppy came from in the first place.

When one sees the photos when one of these millers is exposed, it literally breaks your heart. These dogs spend their whole lives in cages until they have outlived their usefulness to the breeder. After that they are usually killed or dumped. The ones people try to save due to the abuse and filth are terribly ill. Please help.
