Oprah, my dogs are like children to me and I'm sure you feel the same way about yours. They give such unconditional love. The people who breed puppies under such cruel conditions should be locked away. Please help expose these monsters and put an end to their torture.
Oprah, please look into the issue of puppy mills and the extreme crulety done to these animals. Alot of these animals end up in shelters and have to be put down to cross breeding producing bad tempermant or they end up homeless. I know for I am a foster mom at the humane society, have rescued many homeless dogs and unfortuantely had to help a friend put a dog down to bad tempermant from one of these puppy mills. Oprah, you can make a difference for the world listens to you!
This is a critical issue that needs exposure. Profit and greed are the motivators behind puppy mills. Beside the inhumane and cruel treatment that the animals suffer, for every puppy purchased from a puppy mill, there is one less homeless animal that will be adopted from a shelter. People need to know about these practices and the horrors they impose on helpless animals. We all need to use the tools and opportunities we have to make a difference. Thank you.
Puppy mills do not care who gets the dogs or what happens to them as long as they make a buck.A shelter here in Philadelphia, PA gets around 200 to 250 animals every day turned in and picked up. And that's only one shelter in this state, add them all together. Gee, I wonder how many of those dogs are from Pet Shops (aka Puppy Mill Puppies). Ever notice that all pet shop pups are from out of state? When there are plenty of reputable breeders close by. Because a good breeder would never sell to a pet shop, they want to know who has their pups. I'm not in any way saying that all breeders are good or bad, there are way to many back yard breeders doing the same thing as puppy mill breeders. People are regressing instead of progressing with the way animals are treated. I do Siberian Husky Rescue, I have to do this because of the morons who buy dogs at pet shops because they are pretty. When your told as a rescue person there are 40 dogs or more that need your help and you already have 5 or 6 dogs in your home, you don't know how heartbreaking it is that you can't help them all. They have no clue what each breed is bred for. Education is key for all breeds,know what your getting or getting into with a breed. All breeds are not for everyone.
People love Oprah and if the word gets out about Puppy Mills, maybe this can be at least slowed down, we all hope and pray it would cease to be all together. There are a lot of people out there that have no idea what a puppy mill is. Education is paramount.

I have a Dalmatian rescued from a puppy mill. He was nearly catatonic when pulled from there at 6 months. Oprah, please use your influence and clout to help end the terrible pain and suffering endured by puppy mill dogs.

Dear Oprah, your show is viewed by millions every day (but you already knew that!). Besides all these pet stores, do you know how much the Amish are involved in puppy mill breeding? It's shameful. A bill needs to be passed making these mills illegal NOW and shut them down once and for all. Also, there should be a law against purchases outside of the USA over the internet. There are far too many pets being euthanized already. Thank you for speaking out for all of us!
I was a plaintiff in a class action suit against puppy mills in PA. We won and then, 2 years later, the same people opened up under a new name. Something needs to be done.
Being part of a dog rescue organization has made me realize the importance of educating the American Public on the abuse and neglect that goes on at puppy mills. If all americans realized this, they would not purchase pets from Pet Stores that help keep these puppy mills in business. Until this happens we need to promote the adoption of dogs through the various breed rescue organizations and shelters throughout our Country.
Oprah, Won't you please do all you can do to stop these Jerks from damaging lives? It's not only the life of the pup they are tearing apart here, it's the perspective owner the unsuspecting owner that buys a pup thinking it's healthy only to find out too late that it's not...and the end result is heartache and death. Please help this disgusting practice. The Humane Society of the US has condemned these puppy mills. I am sure if the public were made aware of their behavior, the resulting outcry might make the government take notice and enforce the laws that have been passed to prevent this kind of animal cruelty.
Unless these puppy mills are put out of business, the pet overpopulation with all its attendant cruelties will continue despite all our best efforts to control it.

This is a no brainer, SHUT THEM DOWN! We as people are responsible for the care of the animals in this world! We are their only chance. PLEASE HELP THESE POOR LITTLE ANIMALS!

The horror of puppymills will only continue as long as people are innocent as to where their sweet pet store puppy was born and the conditions under which his parents are forced to try to live. If you want to follow some puppy mill dogs from rescue through rehabilitation to rehoming, please contact the powers that be at the 501(c)3 org at www.cairnrescue.com . They will let you follow, anonymously if you so please, the journey of one or many of these rescued souls. Or let you see the story of many that have gone from traumatized creatures to loving pets. No one can imagine the horrors until you really see it. I am a mental health professional and believe that these pups suffer as much if not more than the most badly abused and neglected humans anyone can imagine. After decades in this field, working with some of the most traumatized patients, I have yet to meet a human who can fully “come back” from the abuse the way some of these dogs can. It is a testament to the dog’s innate spirit and love. We must not continue let our own desire to avoid the personal pain of knowing this truth sentence these innocent creatures to a life of hell on earth.
Oprah, I am a loyal viewer of yours. I have also rescued dogs from these types of situations. My Sally Belle was one of them. It was recommended she just be put down because of her age and mammory tumors. Well, I saw life in her eyes and kept her. She is a delight. Full of life. Please expose the tragedies occurring everyday in these mills.
With Christmas coming, pet stores and puppy mills are gearing up to increase "production" and sales. Please, Oprah, bring this information to the general public!

When you look into the eyes of a dog what do you see? When you look into the eyes of a PuppyMill pup that has a horrible life ahead due to inbreeding / malnutrition and under developed immune system and the only way for peace is death...Don't you want to stop these puppy mills from linning their wallets and causing so much heart ache. To have to tell a grandson or granddaughter that their puppy was only 1 yr old but was too sick from the blood line being overbreed and not maintained, that it just had to be put to rest...It's not right, it's not just, it's not christian to be damaging life just to have a better materialistic life of their own. Pup Mills Breeders need to be stopped.
PLEASE expose these inhumane people Oprah! These dog live in unbelieveably small,dirty, and overcrowded conditions. Many have never been let out of their cages or even seen grass! please help expose the horrors of these mills. I believe that if the public knew the conditions the dogs live in they would not buy from these breeders or pet stores that support them.
You do some wonderful shows to educate the public. Please consider educating the public about puppy mills and what they are doing to contribute to the homeless dogs those of us in rescue try so diligently to rehabilitate and find good homes for. Most of them do not get a second chance. Please help us make a difference.
