Oprah- Please expose this horrific industry to the public. People need to know that puppy mills profit from the suffering and inhumane conditions that these dogs are bred in and kept.Millions of adoptable dogs are euthanized each year and puppy mills are to blame for many of these senseless deaths. These puppy mill dogs are usually in poor health and many have poor temperaments. Please use your influence and love of animals to help put an end to this barbaric industry. Thanks.
Puppy Mills are herendous! There should be laws against this treatment of animals. I can't believe that people can be so cruel. This is sheer greed for anyone to treat an animal this way for profit.
Most people who see the sweet puppy at the pet store have no idea the conditions they were bred in, and need to know about all the "purebred" dogs available for adoption from pounds and shelters as an alternative to supporting this vile industry by spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a dog at a pet store.

I took care of a poor cancer ridden female puppy mill ***** until her death. She was pathethic when I got her as a rescue- flea bitten welts on her rear, very little hair growth - cleared all that up - and then could not place her in a forever home - she had cancer. She was tossed out in the cold when she could not produce any more puppies.
These dogs NEED a voice. If people keep buying pups from pet stores and not from responsible breeders or better yet the breed rescues - we will continue to have puppy mills.
We have financially supported local efforts to put an end to this inhumane practice and would be thrilled if someone with as powerful an impact as Oprah, would consider lending her voice to this huge problem. Thanks Oprah for everything you've done for animals. I know you love your dogs so if you could think of the life they may have lived if they were born in a puppy mill, and have compassion, I'm sure you'd do a show informing people of the horrors that go on there. I do rescue and have 2 puppymill dogs of my own. My heart breaks whenever I think of how they lived prior to our lives together. I'm sorry they had to suffer and would give anything to have prevent it from happening. Please view the special Maria Shriver did a few years back on Puppymills and I'm sure you'll agree they need to be stopped. Again thanks for your compassion in this matter.

After many years of volunteering with the local humane society and breed rescues, I can say that there are enough puppies! Please help expose the horrible conditions that these small breed dogs are exposed to. They have no socialization, cold, wire cages, barely enough food to survive. Please do what you can to help educate the American public about where those cute pet-store puppies come from - puppy mills!
Oprah, I have worked with dogs from all over, dogs from pet stores, breeders, pounds, and rescues. Domesticated animals rely on us to take care of all their needs: food, shelter, medical care, and most importantly, love and affection. Please do all animals a wonderful favor and speak up for them and speak out against puppy mills! Thank you for your help.

Puppy mills are one of the most cruel and inhumane businesses in this country. When I was active in rescue work a 6 year old Yorkie ***** from a puppy mill was brought to me to be rehabilatated. She was not able to be re-homed so I adopted her. Her legs were deformed from being kept in a small crate and pregnant for the first half of her life. Her skin and teeth were beyond description. Her only identification was the tatoo YT-6 on her belly. After five years she is still oblivious to everything in the outside world except food, water, and me. When she first came to me she thought nothing of sleeping in her own feces. Now she so appreciates clean bedding in her excercise pen that she barks for my attention as soon as she relieves herself. And...she has a name. This little dog deserved better. Please help educate people. They need to know that unless they've purchased a purebred dog from a reputable breeder, it probably came from a puppy mill. They are supporting people who make their money without regard to the pain, suffering and death that they cause.
Oprah, you are a well educated important person in society today, and I know that if you did a show on "puppy mills" it would open up alot of eyes to the "behind the scenes" abuse!!
Perhaps if more people knew, it would happen less. There are many very credible breeders, but there are far to many "greeders" Please do what you can to help with the voice you have been blessed with.
If people only knew where those cute puppies in the pet store window came from, we could stop so much of this suffering. Please help educate the public on this issue. Pet lovers across America love your show, we would all love to see a show that helped our four legged friends!
Overbreeding, horrific conditions, and neglect are downright wrong from a standpoint of basic common decency. Aside from the obvious abuse, animals rife with genetic defect are being foisted on the unsuspecting public. Many of these animals end up abandonned because their owners cannot afford medication or corrective surgeries. It is way past time for the laws currently in effect to be enforced. Please help educate the public.

Please help educate the public about the atrocities of puppy mills. The human race is responsible for our earth and our animals. The public needs to be aware of what is happening to "man's best friend". Thousands of healthy animals are being euthanized due to the irresponsible practices of puppy mills and backyard breeders.
