Please help expose the deplorable circumstances that some of these innocent animals are breed in. America loves their animals and are against creulty to animals in any way. Oprah, you can, and do, make a difference.
Oprah,
Thank you for your help on this issue. Our last 2 dogs were Humane Society "mutts" and were wonderful pets. So many dogs are waiting for homes. Thank you!
I have e-mailed as well and know Oprah is the BEST person to get the message out there about where to get a dog and responsible dog ownership! I am an active memeber in breed specific rescue and I can only say 95% of the dogs I have helped have originated at a puppy mill. Thier mothers are still there suffering. Time for the world to know where those cute pups come from.
Oprah, we all know that you love dogs. And having the national exposure that you do, would you please help to expose these puppy millers???? Some people are not aware of puppy mills until they end up getting a puppy that is really sick or has lots of problems. Oprah, please help this cause!!!! Thank You!!!!!
Oprah, please help us expose the evil in the animal world. So many people are uninformed about puppy mills and unknowingly buy sick or inbred dogs. Please help put a stop to this injustice.
Please help expose this cruel industry. You are an animal lover who has the opportunity to reach out and affect the population. We have 3 puppy mill rescues and I don't wish the horrors they have been through on any other living creature. PLEASE SPEAK OUT FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES- I beg of you.
As an educator as well as an animal fan, I respectfully ask you to consider using your influence to educate the public about the horrific conditions that many dogs are forced to endure because someone wants to make a buck.
Mills have been around forever, supplying pet stores. Now,with the internet, it is even easier to line thier pockets on the backs of the poor, neglected breeding dogs that live in cruelty. Please help us in rescue help them.Educate the public with the true story.
Oprah as the owner of 3 dogs and 3 cats I'm begging you to please help run the Puppy mills out of business. All of my cats are rescue kittys. You might as well say my 2 Great Danes are rescue animals, even though they were bought from a "private breeder". I should have investigated the breeder in depth before I bought the dogs, but at the time I had just buried my beloved Dane and was desperate to replace her with another. So, I bought the first one that came along and then went back for her brother because I felt sorry for having left him behind. Don't get me wrong-they are great dogs for ME because I can put up with their shortcomings. However, they are so inbred my sons call the Village Idiot #1 & #2-not a whole lot upstairs if you know what I mean-this is the inbreeding. But I bought them, so they are mine to have until they pass on. In the meantime, these breeders need to be called out for the grave disservice they are doing not only to the dogs but to the public.
;You should be pushing spay & neuter instead of "oh, how cute the puppies are". Too many must be euthanized because parents want their kids to see the magic of birth. They can rent a movie! Please, Oprah, help this cause.
Knowledge is power! Grant your viewers the POWER of truth regarding puppy mills and the cycle of suffering that continues long after the puppy is sold...
If you love animals like I do you have to know that they deserve to be treated in an ethical loving manner as do all living creatures. Dogs are social creatures that have feelings and desires to please a loving family. Puppy millers don't believe this. They only see dogs as $$$ signs. Because of this they force them to live their entire lives in pins stacked one on top of the other so that the dogs in the upper cages are defecating on the lower ones. Their feet never touch the ground for their entire lives. Can you imagine what living ia cage your whole life would do to your brain? The females are forced to whelp litter after litter. The dogs that are not “profitable” are often killed or if lucky thrown on the streets. The acceptable puppies are sold for big bucks to pet stores all around the nation where the people who by them are lied to about where they come from and charged gigantic prices to buy often defective puppies. Please do a show to expose these awful millers for the horrible heartless monsters that they are.
I run a pit bull and other breed rescue BECAUSE of these puppy mills..People breed dogs and then there are not enough homes for them etc..and pet stores want too much $ for them for the common person to afford them and then they end up in shelters, most of the time high-kill shelters and then people like me spend their time and $ out of their pockets to rescue and care for these dogs until the day they die. I don't mind doing the work that I do because it was my choice..It's where my heart is and there is a big need for it in this world and I love all of my "animal children" and they are all rescues that I decided to keep in my care forever. Stop the overpopulation. If these people were going to breed one time and for a fact spay and neuter after that and keep all of the puppies etc that would be different because they would have ensured forever homes..but that is not the case by far. *By the way I would like to be on the Oprah show and help Oprah expose these horrible places.
Oprah,
We would love to see
you do a show, on puppy
mills, to show the public
the horrible conditions
in which these poor dogs live
and that when people buy
from a pet shop, they are
most likely buying a sick
pup coming from one of those
mills...you have your beloved dogs
and I know you are an animal
lover. This is such an important
topic...please consider 'talking' about it.
Thank you.
Any help you cn give would be greatly appreciated I work at an animal shelterand help wih a purebreed cat rescue so I know first hand what a mill can do. Again any help.
Breeding for money without regard for standards and health has made people rich and dogs very poor. You can make a difference, Opra. Without our help they are helpless.
I have always been bothered by all the puppy mill stories. I can't imagine someone of Oprah's fame not helping out these poor animals. Someone has to put a stop to this and eliminate this cruel treatment to mans best friend.
Oprah,
If anyone can make an impact on the public and possibly our Government about this horrific business it would be you. After years of hearing Bob Barker say "control the pet population, please have your dog or cat, spade or neutered" I think its time that something is done with the folks that are contributing too it! The public needs to know what is going on and reveal other ways to obtain an animal that needs a home! You have the power to help put a stop to this
My son bought a dog from a "breeder" that was raised in a filthy dirt floor lot. We received the dog with a long hair growing in his eye, which has since been operated on, & he has loose hips which limits his mobility. I feel this was a mill & he didn't know the difference. We take good care of our animals but if he had been produced in the correct way I do not feel he would have these problems. It breaks my heart to see this on documentaries and on TV so lets get these people out of business. To many are being born with defects due to mass breeding.
Oprah, you love dogs(I suspect all animals)as much as I do. You are a powerful person in the media. You can do much to help the plight of innocent dogs in puppy mills. Please help soon.Thank you
Puppy Mills, in my experience, leads to unhealthy pups that require a lot of Vet attention. We have so many animals available without the puppy mill wretches.
Well bred dogs are not the ones biting innocent people. It is the poorly bred, money hungry people who will sell any dog, to any person with enough money in their pockets. Please - save people from injury, save animals from lives of abuse and neglect.
