Who can the animals rely on? Only we have a voice to express disgust at the inhumane treatment of dogs at the Puppy Mills. I watch the Oprah program and enjoy the direct approach you use - can we use this same direct approach to stop the inhumanity of Puppy Mills and make people more aware and knowledgeable when it comes to where the majority of puppies come from???? Puppy Mills remind me of Auschwitz which was people's inhumanity to people - Puppy mills are people's inhumanity to animals. Can we stop this?? How can we turn a blind eye to an animal that is dependent on us for its wellbeing, and only returns what we dish out with love and a tail wag. How can we turn away from such blatant cruelty???
Dear Oprah, I am the chief deupty dog warden in a very rural county of Ohio. I receive so many unwanted dogs each year that I am forced to "humanely" euthanize once a week! There is absolutely no place for breeders of this type when the world is so full of unwanted pets. Please, please use your tremendous influence to urge people not to buy these puppies. Adopt from a shelter and always spay and neuter. I know that you are also an animal lover and we can make a difference!

I live in the midwest and would love for someone like Oprah who has so many wonderful followers to expose these horrible places. Oprah is such a kind person with a big heart and she has made such a difference to so many people..it would be great if she could make a difference for the defenseless animals!
If you have ever seen one of these mills or seen the problems dogs experience coming from one you would want them exposed. These are horrible people!! If anyone can do it Oprah can.
I raise mini daxies and love everyone of them. They are part of our family and are loved and cared for as such.
The inhumane way these puppy mills are run should be outlawed.

Oprah, PLEASE help expose the CRUELTY of puppy mills and back yard breeders..I urge you to visit a few of these deplorable "prisons"and see for yourself what these helpless and innocent animals are forced to endure...it is NOT a pretty thing to see! I can supply you with places to visit..currently, I am trying to expose a puppy mill in WI..would you like to go there with me and get evidence?? What a shame it is how humans treat our animal friends in such deplorable ways...PLEASE Oprah, help us fight animal abuse, help us expose and close them down. The animals and I thank you.
We need to stop these puppymillers..I did not learn about these puppymillers until I was on site and they talked about the terrible conditions these dogs are in and the bad breeding..Please please sign this pettion...

Research has shown a correlation between a society's willingness to abuse its animals and its willingness to abuse its people. By making animal abuse unprofitable through public awareness and a removal of their customer base, you can help improve the condition of both domestic dogs and human beings. GO FOR IT OPRAH!
If people could only see under what despicable conditions these poor dogs are kept while they produce litter after litter. When they get old (way before their time)and are no longer profitable, they are dumped.
Dear Oprah, I have written to you several times to ask you to use your powerful voice to educate people on animal overpopulation to make people aware of the importance of altering thier animals and that even one litter makes a big difference. So when this petition came to me I was glad to sign it and hope that you would consider airing a show on the horrors of puppy mills and the horrors of our shelters that are forced to put millions of animals down every year because there are simply not enough homes for them all. You say you are an animal lover but you never do animal stories. I admire you and cry when I see your story and all the things you over came to be who you are. Please Oprah do something else that is important in the lives of millions of animals. You have the power, please use it and save millions (no kidding) from being killed in our shelters each and every year.

please stop the puppy mills--- so many dogs and cats are destroyed each day, due to this over population,, have you ever seen a dog or cat put to sleep and they look at you, this is what is happening to all those dogs and cats, its so sad, please put a stop to this,, i work with service dogs here in big bear,,ca

Oprah, as a well-known pet lover, you have tremendous influence and can educate the American public about puppy mill abuses and the tremendous overpopulation of dogs and cats in our country. A show on puppy mills would be very compelling and would attract a large audience. Also please do a separate show on animal rescue groups, with specific breed rescue groups, such as golden retriever rescue, working tirelessly across the nation to save dogs. A "Canine Underground Railroad" (CUR) exists, which is made up of kind volunteers who commit to legs of long-distance trip to transport dogs, say, from the South to homes in the Northeast.
Help educate the public and encourage them to adopt a homeless animal, rather than buy one, particularly from a pet store.

Something needs to be done to stop the suffering of so many helpless puppies brought into this world for the sole purpose of making money without regards to care and feelings of animals, unscrupulos breeding practices and surroundings.
