I volunteer at an animal shelter and on a daily basis see the products of these "breeders." I think if we shut down the puppy stores, the mills will have no one to sell to. Oprah, please help. I know you are a dog-lover.
Oprah, This is such a sad situation. The public needs to be educated on this. Dr Phil had a puppy on his show he adopted from his local shelter. So can't you do something to help the poor dogs in the puppy mills across the U.S.???

Please include this issue on your show of which I am a fan. Your compassion is greatly needed to address the abuse of many puppy mill operations and the exploitation of these animals. There are so many hundreds of thousands of shelter dogs and cats put to sleep unnecessarily.
Maybe you should remind them that Oprah really loves those adorable Cocker Spaniels of hers. I saw a photo of them arriving with her on her private jet!
Oprah, I know you will have interest in this as you are a dog owner. Also, I previously wrote you regarding doing a program on the dog show world. More people are tuning in to watch the national dog shows. You could interview professional handlers vs the breeder,owner,handler. I'm very new in the dog show world and this would be helpful for individuals thinking about getting into this. Plus I WOULD LOVE TO BE AT YOUR SHOW!!!!!
I wish we could shut down all puppy mills. I feel so sorry for the animals that live there lives in cages doing nothing but breeding. we have to stop this
Not only should this be addressed for puppies, but mills breeding kittens should also be shut down. There are enough animals at the Human Society and other organizations that need homes; we do not need these horrible, inhumane mills. Please get rid of these horrendous mills!!!!!
Working in an animal shelter, I see all too much the effect of the growing number of unwanted animals. The puppy mill industry only worsens this situation.
Please expose this problem to your huge audience. You could make such a difference. It would also be great to focus on the problem of unwanted animals: the importance of spay/neuter and adopting from shelters and rescues. Millions of perfectly wonderful animals are being euthanized because there are no homes!

Oprah, I know you are an animal lover as I have seen your dogs over the years, please listen to those of us who work in the rescue ranks and see the conditions and the results of dogs bred and kept in these puppy mills. They - the millers usually pay no taxes and produce genetic and bad temperament pups to be sold in pet shots and to the uneducated public.I have worked in Akita rescue for 8 years now and this would make a great show exposing what some of these dogs endure by the hands of uncaring, selfish and money hungry puppy mill owners.

We are foster parents for a group out of LAnsing, Michigan and have first hand saw some of the horrors that these poor dogs are subjected to day in and day out. Please help sotp this practice.
I am a true animal lover and just the thought of puppy mills sickens me. I just rescued a 10 year old dog that had been both abused and neglected in her past. Though she is not a product of a puppy mill, her abuse history is very similar. I urge anyone who can get the information out about these awful places out to the public to do so. Education is the key to ending this tradgey.

People and animals suffer from the horrendous conditons of puppy mills. Innocent dogs suffer unbelievable cruelty and innocent families suffer needless heartache when their precious puppy has numerous health issues or dies after purchase. Please help us to expose this needless tragedy and stop the puppy mills cold!
This does not have to be exposed by graphics. It would help educate the family looking for a puppy and perhaps adopt unwanted pups. Also stop many health or aggression patterns inherited genes from poor breeding habbits.
dogs deserved to be loved and cared for like any human. They don't deserve a life of free of pain and suffering. They did not do anything wrong!!! Let them be with people who like dogs not money!!!!
