You could do so much for so many of these wonderful human companions of ours who are living a life of horror in puppy mills. We do all we can to make a difference, but often our voice and their sorrow is never heard.
Oprah, we all know your time is valuable. And even more we know you love all animals. Please help those of us who work so hard every year in rescue to expose puppy mills and pet stores for what they are.
Being only a small part of rescue tryign to learn how to be of help. and its so frustrating when folks GREED BREED> I cannot say enough about the wonderfulness of petfinder.com which is probably good for a whole show in itself. please Oprah we need your help.

I don't understand why you haven't done a show on puppy mills. And how thousands and thousands of dogs and puppies suffer each year. The lucky one's are the one's that die. Please, help these helpless animals. All they want is to love and be loved. You can make such a huge difference by just having one show on this subject. Please, I beg you with every fiber of my being. My girlfriend and I have been rescuing homes pets for over 10 years now.

As a pre-veterinary medicine student at Ohio State and a exhibitor of AKC/UKC Chmpion great danes, this issue is a sensitive one for me. I think you would be one of the best ways to expose puppy millers and the pet stores who cater to them. These people are selling sickly neglected puppies for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to people who DO NOT KNOW where they come from until its too late. I have a friend who bought a great dane pup from a pet store for $1500...it died 3 days later and they did not recieve a penny back (only a 48 hour "guarantee") and I know another whose dauchaund fron pet land is dying, at 10 months, from kidney failure. The people who run these places are unethical and immoral, often times craming hundreds of dogs into tiny cages and breeding them over and over again until they are no longer of use to the miller (IE they can no longer produce), then theyre thrown away, liek trash. These poor animals usually receive NO health care and no love. Its wrong, and someone in ur position is in such a good place to shed some light on the matter.
Oprah, your show along with sincere concern for issues of important to the American public is well known and highly respected. Please help end this terrible circle of cruelty.

This is a multimillion dollar trade in this country. If any single person could address it effectively it would have to be you. Research and reach your own conclusion. We,JQ Public can only rescue or put to death humanely these mills byproducts.

Your beloved cockers are well-loved, well cared for, cherished. Please help to enlighten the public on the thousands upon thousands of dogs (and cats) which are forced to live neglected, unhealty lives in cages of filth; piled on top of one another with no human contact, let alone affection. I am also owned by a puppymill dog who lived in a cage for 9.5 years of his 12 year life. Nothing deserves to live like that. He has blossomed sinced I rescured him almost 2 years ago. Please help in the fight against puppymills.

I have MANY times tried to email you about a show that deals with Dog rescue....this is a result many times of what puppy mills sell to puppy stores and these poor babaies end up in the rescue ring with the actual rescue Paying all kinds of money out for medical needs.
You staff keeps telling me that you are right now not looking for a show on this.

Any type of situation where there are lots of animals and breeding with no care and attention given to the animals is some sort of abuse an neglect. I have helped in closing down four puppy mills, have a german shep from a small one, and have started to rescue horses now too, I think PMU horses are equal to puppy mills in a sense!

I adopted a dachshund who was a puppy mill breeder. She was in horrible condition when I got her..please stop this horrible treatment of dogs. They deserve a better life.
Oprah, your staff once wanted to buy a puppy from me. They were just born and too young to go anywhere. I love you and your show if it was ethically poss I would have sold you or given you one! Godd breeders sacrifice so much for the betterment of the breed it cna be heartbreaking. Puppy mills charge for mixed breeds because they have cute names. They are shipped from so many different states at "8" wks of age and do not receive the socialization which is necessary for them to become the pet the pet they can be. No care is given to their health. It is the fast food of dogdom!
