Dogs of the puupy mills never sit on furiture, never lick a person in the face or have an accident in the house. These dogs are caged 24-7 given bearly enough to eat and never loved. Help end this abuse.

Please help stop people from running puppy mills. Puppy mills are all over, most recently read about Lancaster PA and the Amish running mills. This puppy mills must be shut down. The conditions that the dogs live in is inhumane. They are treated terrible. They live in small cages born to breed constantly, the puppies are sold to pet stores that will buy them. If people want a dog, adopt, rescue from a shelter or rescue group. With your help we can stop these horrible conditions. You are in a position were you can help. Thank you for your concern and support.

I have seen the conditions of puppy mills first hand. It breaks your heart! All the owners think about is the profit they are making and could care less about the condition of mothers of the pups. The conditions are unbearable, it's heartbreaking. When the mothers get to old to breed they are destroyed. Please do whatever you can to help stop this from happening.

Oprah- We NEED your help on this. I rescued a 5 year old Doxie from a puppy mill that AKC had shut down about 5 months ago. She was in a 2x3 crate her entire life. She had never been on grass, had a collar on or even had a name. She had an ear infection, eye infection and had a growth on her head. Her long coat was so tangled & matted, you couldn't even tell what color she really was. After working on it for 4 1/2 hours, it turns out she is a beautiful Isabella Blue. Her infections are healed, the growth was removed and her teeth were cleaned & treated. Now she is in very good health, but has so many mental issued. She is SO scared all the time. She does have a couple social days now and then and I can tell she is much happier than when we first got her. I also now there is no way I will ever know the extent of everything she went through. From the way she acts...it had to be BAD!! We need your help to stop this terrible life that so many of these lovely creatures suffer. PLEASE HELP!!

I have fostered several dogs that have lived their lives in puppy mills in small cages and only used for breeding. These dogs were released by the puppy mill to a rescue group who had to pay for them. One was 8 years old and the other 11 years old- all that time in a little cage and they were angels in my home. They were adopted to a wonderful couple and have become wonderful beloved pets. They were the lucky ones there are many more who are not so lucky and never know a loving home or person. The help of the Oprah show could make such a difference to many animals who suffer endlessly while living in puppy mills or who are shipped to pet stores, kept in dismal conditions and then sold on credit to people who quickly lose interest in them. I hope you'll consider helping this cause.

Education of the public is going to be one of the only ways people understand the importance of SPAY/NEUTER of animals. You are admired and looked up to by people all over the nations and one of your shows dedicated to this issue would carry a lot of weight. It definitely would be appreciated by all the little girl and boy dogs living in squallow conditions in puppy breeding farms (better known as puppy mills).Your suggestions will be listened to and people will take heed and begin to investigate and learn if you show you are interested in this subject. Would you help us to help these little creatures that God created. He gave man the charge to take care of all of his created beings. There is so much greed today and puppy mill owners are at the top of the list. Education can help stop and eradicate this abominable way to make a living. Oprah I think you have the audience that can bring attention and will spread the word regarding the situation with Puppymills (Commerical Breeders). The dogs that are living (if you want to call it living) in Puppymills usually are in their own feces and urine. Are ill and are breed until they die or physically can't produce puppies any longer. If a puppy is born very ill it will likely be "set aside" to die. Not be cared for or even humanely euthanized, no to be set aside to slowly die. This is only the tip of the problem. Many of the dogs that come from this type of environment have physical problems such as limb deformities due to their cages they are kept in. They also have numerous other health problems. The puppies are then brokered from one place to another. Just to make some money at the expense of their lives. I ask that you please help bring the plight of the dogs being used in the Puppymills. With the holidays rapidly approaching the push to buy a puppy in a store is going to be harder. The internet and your local shelter can help provide with information and I am sure that many of the people that sign this petition can also assist in gathering ACCURATE information.

Seversl yrs ago I bought a puppy unknowingly from a puppy mill, brought him home and the next day he was extremely ill with parvo which also infected my other puppy who had not had all shots due to her young age. Both dogs were featured on a local tv news station to show people about puppy mills. These are very coniving, ruthless people who need to be stopped. Thanks to a wonderful vet and staff, both dogs lived and have done quite well. The expense was tremendous, but the puppies would not have lived without it. It's so disheartening to see female dogs used up and discarded when they can no longer bear pups. This is typical of puppy mill organizations. There is a large, informal network of dog rescuers that keep saving dogs and finding homes for them even when it seems the problem only gets worse. If you could help us turn the tide I think you would be performing a service greater than you can imagine. Thanks for listening. Rob Salgado, German Shepherd Rescue

Yes, please do educate the public about buying dogs from pet stores and especially internet sites which are all from puppy mills. Also about the Amish who raise them in barns with no social contact, crates stacked on top of one another, dripping feces on other animals, and then use private people to advertise in newespapers and show puppies. Good indication is when parents of dogs are not on premises. However, rescue leagues and AKC breeders should make it a little easier to obtain puppies. I just went thru this for 6 months trying to find a reputable breeder after putting my Cairn terrier to sleep. Every time I applied for a rescue dog, filled out the paperwork, got checked, approved, the dog was gone. I got very frustrated and gave up on the rescue leagues. I think ALL NEWSPAPERS should have a warning it the PET ADS to educate people about puppy mills.

You have the class it takes to do a show that is clearly needed. My dogs ( Yorkies ) are just like my children, I hate to think of dogs that were brough into this world to be sold to anyone with the money with no regards of the right puppy for the right home mind frame. Often times a good family will buy a puppy that will show signs of being very ill later and after they are attached to the little puppy they drain their accounts paying vet bills. Good Luck, should you decide to take this on. You need to send the scums over to DR. Phil for another talking to :))
